It would be a travesty if that was the case since neither would fight Hrgovic

I'll pick Ortiz by knockout unless it goes past 7 or 8 then Ortiz fades and Martin may actually win.

Agreed. The old Cuban has some skills and pop but he needs to make something happen in the first half of the fight. What's interesting is I think both are southpaws (I imagine Luis has faced more over the years).

I slag Ortiz and the "bogeyman" mystique bit glad to see him getting back in the ring. He and Martin will either stink out the joint or produce some nice fireworks. Either way it's two contenders in the ring on New Years...what's not to like?

They waited for more than a year waiting for something else. They ran out of options.

Not a bad fight but a PBC recycling.

The IBF didn’t order this fight it wouldn’t work like that . Both can avoid Hrgovic but he’s ranked 3 and Ortiz is 10 so that’s not going to be a mandatory because it’s the first two highest ranked guys available that fight for an elimination bout which is Martin and Hrgovic .

The next available guy is now Joyce or Kabayel if Martin decides not to pursue a title shot .

Yeah fair enough, i know Hrgovic is targeting it. The winner should have to fight him.
