Wow those a real good number and Plant is a bit of an unknown but he did his part to sell it so props to him but this was mainly Canelo carrying this ppv.

And it went head to head with the UFC so pretty damn impressive.

In November, not a usual big fight date, plus going against The UFC, who by the way ESPN was promoting the heck out of that event, Showtime did not do a big promotion, and a not very known opponent, 800k is a huge number, Come May, wether it's Charlo or Benavides, that fight is going to crack 1million plus. If you read the article, it clearly says domestic buys only, meaning just the U.S, UFC fans make a big deal on their buy rate, where it clearly states, that when they count their PPV, it's a global count, not just domestic, so when it comes to boxing stars and UFC stars PPV counts, boxing clearly sells more in the U.S, not to mention the revenue they make from networks around the world paying for righs for the fight. Showtime and Haymon I guess, are probably really happy, so I expect them to continue to court Canelo.

He is the PPV king, but why do you have yet another alt?

Anyways, Canelo vs Charlo is probably a given in May of 2021. That fight should be able to do similar numbers to this one.

Wilder v Fury II does 800k (1.2M with digital buys) haters say it flopped it didn’t break even.

Canelo did 800K PPV buys these same individuals say it’s a massive success lol.

both events main even purses totaled $50M. But did same live gate and PPV revenue. But wilder v fury was hated on. You can’t make this stuff up.

Dana White ordered Canelo fight and watched it Ringside from his UFC card

If I recall correctly I remember telling you guys that this vaunted crossover combat sports market is just a mere fantasy. Whomever the current king of boxing is will always be the bigger draw. Whether it's Mike Tyson, De la Hoya, PPVweather, Pacman or Canelo, the P4P boxing champ will always be the PPV KING! Canelo did himself a disservice by going to the app. He lost all the momentum he had coming off that second 3G fight. Now that he just had a great performance back on an American platform the wind is at his back again and he should keep it going with Benevidez and of course the big one - CHARLO. I say Charlo is the big one not because he is better than Benevidez but let's be honest, the whole black v mexican rivalry will be at an all time high. Redhead can quite possibly run through both of them and can you imagine how big his legend will be if he came back and whipped all the PBC "killers"? I know I know, that means DAZN/Hearn will be the biggest losers in this but so what they were never really part of the American boxing scene anyway. Hopefully when the GBP contract runs out with DAZN he will get his ass over to Showtime and things will be normal again.

Yup lol he has said in the past he didn't understand why they would go head to head with the UFC but then he ends up watching the fight himself during the co-main event of his female champions pretty disrespectful. I didn't watch it either because obviously the Canelo fight takes precedence but if it wasn't on I would've watched it alongside whatever boxing was on that night. UFC is slowly starting to run into problems they are recycling fights and a lot of the fighters are retiring early or leaving instead of renewing their contracts. I'm not saying it's going to crash it's an exciting sport and there are some new up and comers but until the pay rate is adjusted I could see a lot of stars leaving and creating their own brands. They could possibly venture into a bit of boxing or maybe take a fight or 2 with Bellator or OneFC . At this point it's whatever they feel like that's the way I see MMA going in the future.
