Lots of you are showing your age (youngish) I'm an 80yr old New Yorker whose older brother lied about his age, he was not yet 17, and went on to win the PAL (Police Athletic League) heavyweight title. I was not yet ten when I saw him in the newsreels at the movies winning the title! The fight was held at MSG ! (My parents put an end to his boxing career.)
Since then I've been a boxing fan.
Every era has its greats!

To the present. I was a big fan of A.W. until he started his sour g****s stories.
He wants to fight Canelo. He thinks that after 4 yrs retired he can return to the ring and beat Canelo? In fact what he really wants is a pay day he never got in his heyday!
Why would Canelo fight a has been who was great but is now a retired has been? Why does A.W. want to fight Canelo????? He needs the money. If it's just for legendary history let him fight for free....donating all his purse to charity. In that case Canelo should fight him and take him apart. Or he can climb up the ladder and get a deserved fight with S.C.A.....in a year or two of victories against the opposition. Calzaghe achieved a hell of a lot more than Froch. Undisputed champion, lineal champion, 21 defences.

As exciting as Froch was he was never even the #1 in the division. Calzaghe was ranked number one in that division for 6+ years.

I really enjoyed Froch’s career but he’s not a HOF’er IMO.

Their resumes are pretty close tbf, Froch fought a lot of top 10 guys back to back.
