According to promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, WBO/WBC middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik has been cleared by a doctor to start training on October 10. The timeline would give Pavlik the right amount of time to get ready for a December 5 title defense against Paul Williams. i don't understand why people think pavlik would give excuses as to not fight williams,pavlik is too strong for williams,williams got hit a lot against margarito and pavlik hits way harder,he's a big middleweight,i don't think williams will handle his punches well,i remember margarito wobbling williams,don't see why pavlik can't,it's not like williams is a boxer,he's a figher,will trade with williams and get knocked out..

Tough fight to call-if based solely on styles,Paul Williams can take it-question is,can he take hits from Kelly? If Paul decides to trade with Kelly,then don't be surprised if Pavlik wins.This fight all depends on what gameplan Williams executes.He goes toe to toe in a lot of fights,and with Kelly,thats exactly what he shouldn't do.I also notice Paul has a lack of defense that Kelly can capitalize on.I'll say based on both of their assets,flaws,etc that Williams either wins with the judges,or Pavlik wins by t/ko...
