Damn, I can't wait for this fight either. I didn't think Marquez was serious when he first called PBF out of retirement, but now I'm beginning to wonder if his chances are better than I think they are. I hope he shocks the world.

Are you kidding me?...this is the guy that knocked margarito's head off.You do know that?? I'd like floyd to attempt that.
With all due respect to you, Shane is not a top-tier "boxer. He should be, but he isn't. He is a top-tier fighter, largely because of his physical gifts. But as far as being a pure boxer, he isn't in the league of FMJ.

I have seen Shane outboxed by Vargas (!), Oscar, Forrest, Winky, and Cotto. Heck, people forget that Shane was troubled by Mayorga. Can you imagine Mayorga hitting Floyd repeatedly?

When SM fought Miguel, the fight was close through about 8. Probably dead even; they had been trading. As soon as Miguel started to move away and box Shane's ears off, he swept the remaining rounds.

It is my belief that Floyd would soundly outbox SM at 135, or at 147. I think Miguel, despite being slower than Shane, would be a more difficult fight for FMJ.

careful, now. Remember how Ricky Hatton had convinced 40% of this board that he was going to batter Floyd? He seemed REALLY confident too.

But if pac wins and marquez loses there wouldnt be a significance.Pac would be surpassing him legacy wise.I see that match happening in good fashion if they both lose there upcoming matches.
Ali-Frazier III happened after Frazier had lost to Foreman and Ali had beaten Foreman. But it was one of the greatest fights of all time. According to your logic, it shouldn't have happened.

Styles make fights, and Pac's and JMM's styles complement each other as well as Ali's and Frazier's styles did. Pac-JMM fights will always be ultra-close, and very exciting, however many times they fight.

Marquez losing to Floyd wouldn't alter the fact that Pac-JMM III needs to happen. Especially given the weight disparity against Floyd.
