The thing is though that every unified champ ends up dropping the belts,& Canelo was already making it obvious that Bivol might just be next(& maybe Canelo takes an acclimation tune up or 2 at 175,who knows,Hearns making it seem obvious to me though that he wants to get his guy Bivol that fight next(in house fights always take priority)

I'm obviously a fan of both sports, although I do typically prefer MMA because I can recognise objectively that it generally gives the fans what they want more than boxing does. You shouldnt be angry and bitter at MMA for consistently delivering and gaining a lot of ground as a result, you should be angry at boxing for putting you in a position where you have to convince yourself that you're not getting the ****ty end of the stick by watching it instead.

Thats a disingenuous way of putting it. Its a sport where by its very nature you usually transition into it from another combat sport, the clue is in the name - mixed martial arts. Therefore if you happen to have experience with one of the things in that mix, it will be transferable to MMA. Thats not the same thing as being full of failures from other sports.

And let be honest, all combat sports have extremely small talent pools compared to ball sports anyway. MMA has 5-10k active pro fighters while boxing has maybe 20k. One is bigger than the other but its essentially comparing small to small.

Covington is a former div 1 wrestler and Usman is a former div 2 national champion and BJJ black belt. If they dont want to box with you you are going to have a very difficult time making them.

Its both. MMA rules make for exciting fights, and the UFC then packages that and promotes it extremely effectively. Theres plenty of good MMA independent of the UFC too, it arguably wasnt even the no1 MMA promotion until like 2007.

I don’t blame White, I watch both main events and the UFC fight was a stinker compared to Plant Canelo. Odd because the first match was a barn burner.

A stinker? Colby was almost ko'd early and then Usman kept his chin in the air and was ducking into punches. Covington turned it on late and saw he could score with the uppercut. That was a great fight. All of them were. Including the co-main event, which was going on the same time as Canelo/Plant

I can never get into MMA simply because eventually the two fighters will go to the ground and wrestle for an entire round and then their muscles are shot to hell and look like two boxers in the 15th round but it's barely round 3
