Comments Thread For: Fury's Coach Explains They Are 100% Serious About Helping Joshua Prepare For Usyk

SugarHill Steward, the head trainer of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, says the recent offer to assist Anthony Joshua is genuine. Back in September, Oleksandr Usyk outboxed Joshua over twelve rounds to capture the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight titles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Just a PR move from Fury team. Nice, but...useless. He CANNOT teach Joshua how to box. End of. Period. As a matter of fact, no one can, because it's too late. He lacks the fundamentals. He's a brawler, pusher, he can be a bully if he so wants, but in front of a real boxer he's fading out quickly. If Povetkin or Klitscko would have been younger, Joshua would have been ko'd big time.

Although there's still interest in the Fury-Joshua fight, it's no longer got the shine that it once had imo.

This has to be the dumbest post ever on this forum.

If anyone has solid fundamentals in the HW division - it’s AJ. One thing he doesn’t lack is fundamentals.

You probably don’t know what boxing fundamentals are and you’re just another idiot with access to internet, lol.

So basically Tyson doesn't believe he can beat Usyk himself and wants to basically tagteam with a guy he has spent his whole adult life sl4gging off.
Tell him to go and **** himself AJ!

That will be a very bad career move. Joshua doesn't move his head enough to neutralize the counters from Oleksandr and plus he's too chinny to ever walk Usyk down. Oleksandr would just step around him.

That Kronk style is so overrated. It's only effective against fighters who can't move and don't know how to box off the back foot like Deontay Wilder. That shit is an art form and not a science. It's not universal.

Just because it works for one fighter doesn't necessarily means that it will work for all fighters. Deontay Wilder has never been a complete, scientific or fundamentally sound fighter. He was always an undersized slugger who could punch; Which made his style very predictable and easy to neutralize.

While on the other hand, Usyk is a more versatile fighter with several more wrinkles to his game. Besides, Joshua isn't 6'9 and weighs over 300lbs either.
