Fighting smart was the closest AJ could get to beating Usyk. He can go all out, as hard as he can in a round, then punches himself out and is fatigued and vulnerable the rest of the fight.

No matter what anyone says, Joshua was indeed competitive. He will lose more rounds this time or get KO’ed for being too aggressive. Being the favorite had fans exaggerating how badly he did. It could be argued that he won 5 rounds. Also AJ lost the fight in the championship rounds, while Usyk turned it up.

The way AJ fought Ruiz in the rematch, that was his optimal gameplan. We saw the best of AJ when he fought Usyk. Unfortunately for him, Usyk was better with that style.

Unless he works on his stamina, he needs to try to box Usyk again. If his training consists of stamina workouts, then that will increase his success at being aggressive.

I predicted AJ would win and I was rooting for him. As a fan of AJ, I admit that was one of the best I have seen from him. He will have a harder time if he is too aggressive.

With that said, AJ is a warrior and a prideful fighter. He does not steer clear of anyone, including fighters who beat him. His fellow countryman Amir Khan does the opposite, no care to avenge losses because he is not fond of the idea of possibly getting KO’ed again.

Usyk is also a warrior and ballsy fighter. He went up to HW and wants to fight the best at HW. He even refused step aside money.

AJ and Usyk, are plain and simple, just two great fighters. Boxing fans/media should be proud of boxers like them at a time where boxing is a complete sh/t show.

I think that these 5 fighters turned 2021 into a great year. I know there are more exciting fighters and performances but these were the most visible/popular fighters to mainstream and casuals. Fights like those above aforementioned fighters were in, is a big reason why many new fans want more.

AJ has to reclaim his identity. For this fight, he's got to take charge from the 1st bell. Fight like the bigger man that he is. Backing up will not be acceptable. I can't say his win vs Ruiz was impressive, due to Ruiz lack of training. Had AJ lost to THAT Ruiz too.....

Usyk is not a dummy. He will be prepared to do what he did the 1st time and see if he can catch AJ exposed, like Ruiz did.
AJ is in a must win situation. I highly doubt he can out box Usyk. The pace he set vs Wlad was beautiful (minus the KD). Intelligent aggression is where it's at.

Usyk was ready to retreat with the calvary in the 6th. Even Whyte said AJ was fighting like a weido, not to try and finish him. PTSD from the Ruiz temple shot still. AJ wins the rematch. But hey, if it´s too complicated for you there´s plenty of crude sluggers with KO power in the division. And Usyk was just fine in the 6th tho he certainly felt the right hands from AJ - who wouldn´t.

On third watch AJ done better than i first viewed but rounds 9 to 12 were horrible and for that reason i cant see him winning the rematch. He didnt let his hands go enough and he looked like he was going to faint when the bell sounded for the end of the fight. If he lets his hands go in the rematch and Usyk is still standing Aj doesnt have a chance in hell in making it to the final bell talk less of winning. His only chance of survival is adopting the Fury choke and hold that buys him 40 seconds every round so long as he can hold him minimum twice in a round .Elbowing him in the throat you only lose one poin,t its worth the risk

AJ’s best rounds were 6 and 8. One could argue that if he fought like that all 12 rounds then he’d dominate. The problem is only one of these two fighters has proven to be able to stick to a high pace game plan for 12 rounds and it’s not him. As others have already pointed out, a more aggressive Joshua will be a more fatigued Joshua who will walk onto punches in the mid-late rounds. It will be a risky investment.

Same will happen the 2nd fight unless Aj empties his tank in the first 3 but even then i think Usyk still wins.
Aj spending his best year's fighting all those slow old men is coming back to haunt him.
