Always gonna have a soft spot for Golovkin for being one of a few fighters who helped me re-engage with the sport and consider him the best middleweight since BHops but a lack of real career defining wins and the apparent lack of urgency to rectify it hurts his legacy considerably.

I'm a big fan of Andre Ward, but to be honest Golovkin and Canelo have both called him out before and he chose to stay retired from the game. So it's not their fault that a fight was never made. Out of these three, Canelo has proven himself the superior fighter and I believe he's going to unify 175 next.

One guy has everyone dropping what they do in order to land a fight, while the other guy had people dropping what they had to not fight. Golovkin will go down as a huge what if and overall underwhelming career but their scenarios aren’t even remotely the same. If GGG afforded people life changing money, maybe more people would’ve stepped up but Canelo fortunately can get whoever the **** he wants. He obviously has to win the fights and there’s no denying his talent but like I said, two entirely different situations.
