I think Valdez catches too many punches with his face. It's a bad style matchup for Oscar in my opinion, he'd need to invest in the body early but not sure his face and skin will hold up long enough for that body work and pressure to pay dividends in 2nd half of fight.
That analysis isn't based off an overreaction to the Herring fight. Even at his prime, I didn't rate Herring at the elite level. Last night's version looked like a shopworn version of his best. It's just a bad matchup IMO. Of course, I'm more wrong then right in analysis so what do I know.Comment

I'm hopeful, but Bob has a plan for Stevenson, and it's the same model he used for Crawford, the model is, waste your prime years fighting paper champion's, once you're old and your contract runs out, I'll let you fight an actual somebody. I could hear it now, Valdez priced himself out, he doesn't want to fight, I'm fighting the 12th ranked opponent because no one wants to fight me, blah blah, same old same old, and all the people on here will eat it up.....Comment

There is no other fight acceptable next other than Shakur v Valdez. This should’ve been the fight this time out imo.
Let’s hope Bob makes it next. I have a feeling he will move my boy Navarette up to fight Shakur first .
I think Shakur destroys Valdez.Comment
