    Mayweather Punks Out

Mayweather punked out of the Gatti fight. Didn't sign the contract. What the hell's up with that?

This is a fight I really wanted to see. I'd be in Gatti's corner, but it would be an awesome fight no matter which way it went. It would be so cool to watch Gatti beat Mayweather. That would really be somethin' to see.

That's too bad this fight isn't happening. This fight would have been fight of the year. I'm hearing conflicting stories as to who punked out of this fight though.

This really pisses me off. Floyd is an amazing fighter but when is he gonna step up the competition? Gatti and PBF would have been a very good fight.

You're a ****ing idiot. Sorry but you obviously need to get real. Okay explain to me how Mayweather has not stepped up to the competition.

Let us examine the big fights of Floyd's career and Gatti's career. Keep in mind, so I don't have to keep saying it, Floyd is UNDEFEATED. Gatti is NOT.

            Floyd BEAT:

Genaro Hernandez!! (8th round ko Floyd was 17-0, Hernandez's 1 loss was DLH)

            Angel Manfredy (2nd round knockout)

            Justin Juuko

            Emanuel Augustus

            Diego Corrales

            Carlos Hernandez

            Jesus Chavez

            JC Castillo TWICE w/broken hands

            Victoriano Sosa

            Corley

That is 10 big fighters. Hell even omit Augustus, even though that is still a significant person worth mentioning.

Now Gatti beat...damn it was hard finding anybody:

            Gabriel Ruelas

Joey Gamache (oh and Gatti weighed 160 at the time of the fight, 140 limit, that is a fact).

            Terron Millet

            Joe Hutchinson

            Ward

            Leija (washed up as hell)

            Gatti LOST TO:

Manfredy (8th round TKO, Gatti weighed 155 at 135 limit)

            Ivan Robinson TWICE (Hahahahaha)

De La Hoya (yeah no shame there)

MICKEY WARD (MWA HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! LMAO!!! Lost to Mickey Ward!!!)

King Solomon?! Who the ****? Hahahaha.

Yet you say when is Mayweather going to step up? Mayweather has fought AND BEAT better competition. The only person Gatti fought that is better than any of Mayweather's competition is Oscar De La Hoya, who knocked Gatti out in 5 rounds. Ask anybody here, DLH destroyed him from the opening round.

And I don't care, there is no justifying losing to Mickey Ward if you're a serious contender. Gatti is a C level fighter, period.

Mayweather isn't ducking Gatti, it is definitely, definitely the other way around.

I can't believe how you're disrespecting Gatti. The point isn't that he's a good fighter, cause he's not. But the fact that he still wins is a tribute to his heart and not his skill. Now I'm the biggest Mayweather fan there could be, but I'll say to you that he reminds me of Roy Jones, and I'm talking about the one that got ktfo twice because of his arrogance and carelessness. Of course Gatti can't beat Mayweather. But to say that he isn't a good fighter is ridiculous. Find one other fighter that comes through the fire he has and emerges on top. Cause that's the reason he has fans.

Solo, that is one of the oddest arguments I have ever read. So you're saying Gatti is a good fighter because he sucks? Or something like that? Ummm, look at what you said

"The point isn't that he's a good fighter, cause he's not."

                then you say...

"Of course Gatti can't beat Mayweather. But to say that he isn't a good fighter is ridiculous."

My bad, I didn't make it clear what I was trying to say. Nobody thinks that Gatti is a p4p top prizefighter, but everyone always gives him a chance. That's what I meant when we shouldn't bring Gatti's boxing skill into the debate. That's not his strength. What is his strength is his ability to overcome odds (reinventing his style, coming from behind to score knockouts, etc.). That's why he's a viable contender, in my eyes. Floyd could be cutting him up all night with jabs and hooks, but the fans will always cheer for Gatti because they know what he is capable of.

well okay I totally disagree. what odds has Gatti overcome exactly? Oohhhhh he beat the soooo f'n great Gabriel Ruelas.

Gatti is a *****. I'm sorry, but that's how I feel. The dude would jump off the scale so many times because he was overweight for his fights that he would be fighting 140 fighters all the time when he really was a middleweight himself. Once or twice, okay, 10 times, no, that's ****ing wrong and downright immoral. He's putting those other fighters at risk doing that ****. And you can say well they willingly get in that ring too. Yes, but they get in thinking they're fighting a guy of the same weight, not 20 lbs heavier.

That is one of the big problems with boxing and its corruption. Gatti contributes to it big time. So **** him. He's part of the problem. One day, that bull**** will be eliminated once and for all.

Yes, he fights big, whatever, but he also gets his ass beat. It isn't like he wins those fights. Look at his biggest fights...they were all against f'n Mickey Ward. 10 round fights. I'm not talking just boxing skill, I'm talking everything. He struggled with Mickey Ward. Kostya Tszyu also is not that skilled. Well, Tszyu is more skilled than he fights, but he doesn't show it anymore (was amazing as an amateur apparently). But Tszyu would beat Gatti down. Even though they basically both brawl.

Gatti never gives up? He damn well better not against a part time boxer like Mickey Ward. It is ridiculous to call someone like Gatti a great fighter when he struggles with some mockery to our sport like Mickey Ward. I don't like part time boxers. And that is exactly what Ward was. If you're in that ring and not taking this **** seriously, get the **** out of the ring. I don't want you in there, I don't care. Go make movies, but don't get into that ring and insult these fighters who dedicate themselves to the sport.
