Actually Tank gained a fan in me, at least for this fight. Rolly is a corny azz idiot.

Dude thinks he’s a trash talker, but he can’t even get a coherent full sentence out. Him on the podium was cringeworthy. That shht was hard to watch. There was nothing entertaining about it.

Fact is both Rolly and Tank couldn’t pass a 2nd grade reading test. Them dudes seriously have learning disabilities. Listening to them talk make Floyd sound like a genius insightful speaker.

That press conference was next level cringeworthy shht show.

Boxing fans better take note, if we are going to complain and not support cards then promoters are going to do just what Floyd and Haymon are doing- market the cards toward casual non boxing fans that are willing to support the fight.

Boxing fans keep talking about the sport needs to bring in new viewers. Have any of you thought about the fact that new viewers may not share the same opinions on what makes a “great” fight or what fights are “ppv worthy”?

        Just something to think about.
The fans want to see the best fighters fight the best fighters. That’s what makes or made boxing great, the best fighters fighting the best fighters.

We don’t want to see mismatches and if mismatches are going to be the norm on PPV for the future the sport will die.

I don’t really understand why you’re spinning this as an acceptable fight mate? You know full well that it’s not.

There’s no scenario where World Champions or P4P fighters should be fighting unranked fighters. Especially on PPV.

        This fight is indefensible.

As a Floyd fan you should know there are always fans that will do that.

I can’t argue against why you feel that way. I just think that there are completely different expectations for a guy in Canelo’s spot and a guy in Tank’s, regardless of race.
He’s a “3 weight world champion” and he’s beaten 1 fighter ranked in the Top 10.

He’s fighting an unranked fighter on PPV.

How low are your standards on Tank? He needs to fight elite opponents, he’s yet to fight any.

He needs to fight good opponents, he’s barely fought any of those either.

I've always been ok with mixing in an easier defense as long as a champion is otherwise put in tough. It avoids burnout and helps with career longevity.

But Tank Davis is completely avoiding fighting the best. Either by dragging up guys from lower weights or jumping weight classes himself or fighting unranked guys. That should be completely unacceptable to any boxing fan.

Mayorga is one of may favorite fighters... He managed to achieve a lot he also beat 6 heads Lewis who at the time was considered very good. He defintitely had his sweet spots. IMO he had the best smack talk game... Mayorga is to smack talk what Mayweather is to the shoulder roll.

Didn't Mayweather say he would not let Tank outside of the company because he didn't want anyone else having success? I don't have the damn source... but it was attributed to some talking head interviewing him. I tell myself to bookmark these things....

Haters gonna hate, LoL! But why y'all trying to talk other people out of watching the fight? Sounds a lot like jealousy. Can't stand them having successful events ... whether you like it or not, huh? Lots of promoter fangirls hissing and pissing ... with no power to affect anything. Just spouting poison. LoLoL! I think they have some targeted markets for this fight and will probably do well with it.

It will be an interesting fight. It will tell us a lot about both young fighters. And young fighters should be fighting each other ... so I don't understand why all the hate? Regardless, young fight fans and old will watch this fight as these guys continue to climb. Young people all over America will be interested ... these guys are part of the culture of the young and sucessful. PPV may be a stretch but we'll see. Either way it's going to be a good fight, good boxing entertainment, and who knows .... it may contain a surprise or two.

Don't like their clothes? Don't wear 'em. Don't like their lifestyles? Well, we're here to talk about them fighting .... live your life and let them live theirs. Mad that they continue to be successful? Let's see what you've got? You got fighters? Do you have a product? They are risking something to put this fight on ... it's easy to sit in Mom's basement and criticise. You haters should sit down and shut up. Comment on fights you like. If you aren't interested ... well, don't be interested. Why are you on a blog talking about it?

Best post. The gem hidden in their hatred and jealousy is the deep burning knowledge that Davis is a special fighter. Most of them unconsciously overrate him. I personally have no judgment whether it should be on PPV or not. I don't care about that at all. Only the fighting.
