What sticks out in my head is when Antoine Douglas first fought Michel Soro and escaped with a draw and then later took on Khurtsidze and nearly got his head taken off. Heck, might as well throw in his fight against Spike O'Sullivan.

There have been a few instances when UK fighters brought in continental European opponents who they were expected to beat and ended up losing (Ritson and Hyland Jr at the hands of Patera).

Duran losing to Kirkland Laing is the biggest upset I can think of involving a European fighter beating a US based fighter.

Yeah SRR was “on tour” if you know what I mean. Turpin was a very good fighter in his own right though. Ray was just that good, that he could usually live it up in between fights and still come out victorious.

Turpin actually gave a motivated Ray big problems in the rematch, Ray was cut bad prior to forcing the stoppage.

Tyson vs Williams maybe as well. I know Mike was shot but I think almost everybody expected him to have enough left to take care of Williams.
