    Is boxing now officially BACK?!

Dana White said ‘boxing badly needed this fight’.

Let’s be honest, boxing has been stale and there’s been no buzz for it the last couple years. Ever since fury wilder 2, which was at the very start of the whole pandemic and lockdown and the world changing forever. The pandemic didn’t help and of course people pulling out of big fights too like errol Spence didn’t help either.

But now I’m just buzzing about boxing ever since that fury wilder 3 fight can’t get enough of it now. It feels like we have come full circle and this fight has kick started boxing back to life and also signals the end of the pandemic and life back to normal.

fury Wilder 2, boxing becomes stale, start of the pandemic.
fury Wilder 3, boxing comes back to life, end of the pandemic.

And now we have Stevenson-Herring, canelo plant, Crawford Porter, AJ Usyk 2 all to look forward to.

Boxing is in really great shape globally! It amazes me the negativity that follows the sport of Boxing. I think a lot of it just has to do with how successful the sport was in the past with Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.

I CAN NOT WAIT FOR Canelo vs Plant!!!!! I LOVE THAT FIGHT!!!!

The Fury-Wilder trilogy has really helped breathe life into the HW division. Especially in North America where the division has been an afterthought due to European dominance in the 2000’s through to present day.

When was the last time we got a good series of HW fights too? You’d probably have to go back to Bowe-Holyfield in the mid 90’s.

Boxing has never really been in bad shape in all honesty, I wouldn’t pay any attention to what a B-League sport promoter like White has to say.

I think people have distorted memories too, boxing is frustrating with all the politics and fights not happening immediately, but that also happened decades ago too. We wanted Leonard-Hagler in 82, never happened until 87. We wanted Holyfield-Tyson in 91, never happened until 96. It’s certainly worse now because of intense network and promotional politics but it’s that much different to how it’s always been.

My favorite year of boxing in the last 5yrs was 2017. Boxing is here to stay. We have great fights coming up and what the Paul brothers showed the promotional companies and networks is that if you don’t tighten up…someone else can make your business look foolish. Make the fights and let’s move out of this Mayweather win only mentality. Last weekend showed us what the sport is about.

Tyson vs Holyfield was scheduled TWICE!! The first time Tyson lost to Douglass. The 2nd time, Tyson faked a rib injury(he said it himself in his autobiography) and then he went to Prison. So that fight was scheduled but things happened to prevent it. Most Top Fights today of weight classes aren’t even in discussion. Tank and Teo at 135 simply don’t want to fight anyone with a chance to win. Crawford is happy with his mandatories as he was forced to face Porter. 160 is bs with no one facing each other. No plans for Bivol, Smith or beterbiev.. it’s ridiculous. Especially with the 6 belts per weight class along with the additional interim titles that some fighters walk around with showing off.

Boxing is one of the most resilient and lucrative sports that is still standing through tough times and through a pandemic. It is here to stay no matter what.

Its having a great few months late in what had been a really bad year up to that point. Almost like there was a backlog of big fights that all got unleashed close to each other to make up for the absence of them in the rest of the year.

Its pretty much always dips and spikes anyway.

Yeah hes only a promoter for the biggest combat sports promotion on the planet by a massive margin.
