Okay Adam is a bit better then a club fighter. With that said when he was ranked by Ring a few years ago I started paying attention. All the information made it sound as if he was a world beater and then I watched him fight. He was fat, sloppy and and was winging lots of punches and his boxing skills left much to be desired. I was as perplexed then as to why he was ranked in Ring's top 10 as I was last night when I read that he was a favorite to beat the Nordic Nightmare. I have to ask what did anyone see in the first fight that would make them believe Adam should have been a betting favorite to win the rematch? To top it off Robert isn't even that big of a puncher. But since Adam was punching him in the fist with his face why would he need to be?

How far can a fighter go using their face as defense? He definitely has some learning to do in the gym.
Good on Helenius. Very pleased he won, and now he can get some better fights.
IMO many fighters will have trouble dealing with such a long solid jab. It's like a piston.
Yeah I doubt klownacki will be anything besides just 'heavy' FNO... unless he's fighting no-hopers.
Forget 'heavy favorite'. Those days are history IMO.Comment

As for Helenius power, never been punched by him but I always thought he had decent power (he buzzed Whyte nice and good). His style may not lend itself to alot of KOs but he seems to crack hard and as you said, if Kownacki is coming face first that helps things.Comment

I'm not a Kownacki fan, his swarm offense and chin could take him up to a point but as he faced better competition he would ultimately be exposed by his wide, slow punches and non-existent defense. He had blown through a guy in Gerald Washington that had defeated Helenius. I don't subscribe to triangle theories but it helps explains why Kownacki and his team thought Helenius was a good choice. Once he lost, I think they probably felt they had to beat him to get to the next level.

Yeah, one of the first fights I remember watching on TV was Bramble (I think it was the first Mancini fight), I thought he had so much personality and was incredibly interesting. He had the whole witchcraft and rastafarian vibe which set him apart plus he had the Ras-I alias which I thought was cool. He could scrap too, I just liked his style in and out of the ring.Comment
