very good observation and I agree with you. His stamina has definitely hurt him in his career of late.

He wasnt top notch to begin with to be frank, But HBO likes to pick one boxer who they would build up by feeding him mediocre opposition before the throw him unto an older fighter, They are doing the same with Berto now and it would end up like Taylor in a few years just watch..

        1. Stamina
        2. Defense isn't good when the stamina goes
        3. He aint hungry anymore

Pavlik may have ruined him...he looked totally pumped to fight B-Hop both times...I haven't seen that same intensity and confidence since...

Taylor is better than Berto, beating even this version of Hopkins is no small feat. I thought Hopkins deserved the nod in the first fight but no matter he did what so many other couldn't do even at his advanced age.

Taylor actually had a legitimate shot and ruling MW in light of beating Hopkins as the landscape was so scarce and he was a pretty good fighter but didn't have the right mindset. Berto doesn't have much of a chance at ruling WW as its so stacked. Can you really imagine him getting past Elite level of Mosley, Mayweather, Cotto or even just below that with Quintana and Clottey and the like.

Didn't he jump to fame after he beat the mighty B-Hop?

Taylor was overrated after the two close decision wins over Hopkins.

He's a good fighter, but not a great one.

This is the truth. I love Jermain, but he lacks some of the intangibles to be a great in boxing. I hope he can turn it around though.

stamina is his biggest problem. if he had better stamina, he would still be undefeated today. he was outboxing and winning his fights with pavlik and froch until he tired himself out while his opponents maintained constant pressure.

There's nothing wrong with him. He just can't seem to figure out how to beat a white guy.
