No. He got hit, not a fully flush shot, but it hurt him. Could he get up? I believe so yes, but he knew there and then that he couldn't win, and if he got up, the only thing coming at him was more pain, so I can understand his decision to quit. Nash out.

He did the age old tried & true quitting that bums do when they show up for a paycheck & don't want to get beat up. So yes he dived but not because he was told or paid too

He made a business decision, the punch probably stunned him and he was brought there to lose anyway so he bowed out rather than take anymore. I wouldnt say he was paid to take a dive though.

There might be a fine line between a 'dive' and a choice to not get up.

He did one of them though.

Temple shot . . he had no legs and would've been knocked out if he got back up.

I agree with all of the earlier posts. He did get rattled a bit, but chose to stay down. They were buddies and it's business. Malik was never that good, anyway and he knew it. George Foreman talked about how guys would take his shots and go down and then clearly chose not to get up. That happens a lot in boxing, especially when there is no economic incantive to get up and fight on. So yes, and no.

Of course it was a dive and Wilder was in on it, look how he pulls the punch.
