I wonder what happens if Whyte somehow gets it of the Wallin fight? Quick dose of COVID? He'll be the interim and therefore the mandatory.
What about the rematch clause you know Eddie's pushing.

I think we will see an undisputed fight in 2022 and my prediction in order of likelihood of winner is Whyte, Fury, AJ, Uysk, Wallin. Whyte beats Wallin (or it is cancelled, not to be rearranged). Fury has struggled with Whyte in training and Whyte being prepared to take one to give one makes his style awkward for Fury. I think Whyte - Wilder would be a 50:50 but I favour Fury against Wilder. I think Whyte beats both AJ and Usyk unless AJ rediscovers his penchant for a tear up but even then Whyte v AJ for undisputed would be a wild 50:50. Usyk will be outgunned against AJ2 or Whyte/Fury. I don't see Wallin winning 3 on the bounce although it would be funny if he did!

Well, Whyte needs to beat Wallin first. I'm not sure that's a given, I've got this sneaking su****ion Wallin might just prove to be better than many people give him credit for. People will say that he only gave Fury a hard time because Fury didn't train or whatever, but I'm not so convinced.

I am not convinced that Wallin gave Fury problems other than one punch resulting in a very bad cut. Did he really hurt Fury? No and Wallin got hammered on the score cards (110-118, 111-117, 112-116).

Yeah but Fury's the best, Wallin was totally unknown, and people expected him to lose by knockout a la Tom Schwarz or by complete whitewash on the cards and that's not what transpired. Fury's extremely hard to win rounds against but Wallin still managed to even though literally nothing was expected from him. Now obviously it wasn't anywhere near good enough to win against Fury, but unless it was a total fluke it might be enough to get the job done against Whyte, which would be an impressive win given the current perception of both fighters.

Well Whyte is choosing to fight Wallin so I'd be surprised if there wasn't a rematch clause. It's Whyte giving Wallin the opportunity. It's nothing unusual at all.

My point, though, was whether Whyte even needs to fight Wallin. That's a dangerous fight for someone who's just been told his current status makes him the mandatory challenger.

Can't believe he was dumb enough to accept Hearn's offer to fight Wallin.
Why dumb? That's the kind of thinking that holds belts hostage under a champ who won't fight, and also results in mismatches between champs and very weak contenders, rather than matches between top level fighters.
