I'd be glad to see Whyte against the Fury/Wilder winner. Still, he's got to get past Wallin yet. No point looking too far ahead.

It really wouldn’t shock me if Wallin beats Whyte and ends up facing the winner of Fury/Wilder. Unless of course, Whyte has a rematch clause should he lose, which I would assume he does since he did for Povetkin. Imagine, we could get Fury vs Wallin 2 LOL, who would have thought.NC Uppercut likes this.

I hope Whyte beats Wallin simply because Wallin is too boring for my taste. Basically, if there isn't a realistic potential for a fighter to knock somebody out - especially in the heavyweight division - I just can't get too interested in that fighter. Takes the drama away. Wallin seems like a good dude and he's got good boxing skill, but without that KO power or that desire to pursue a KO I'd rather not see him fighting for a belt. Wallin only has one TKO in his last 5 fights (since he stepped up the competition) and that was an injury TKO (Kauffman) to his elbow. Props to him, though, for taking on Whyte, because while Whyte is less skilled than Wallin and has a lot of defensive flaws, I just don't see Wallin making it to the final bell.

We should all be hoping Whyte beats Wallin. If he doesn't there'll be no mandatory and no unification.
You can guarantee there'll be a rematch clause if he loses. And that means Wallin immediately dropping the interim belt. And in the meantime there'll be no mandatory and no unification.
If he wins we'll either see a half decent mandatory fight or a unification. Win/Win in my book.
If he loses we'll get a pointless voluntary nobody.
Whyte has been pretty relentless chasing the WBC. Finally he's backed them into a corner where they've had to act (it's only taken a few years). Now don't mess it up, Dillian!Tag, You're Hit likes this.

I wonder what happens if Whyte somehow gets it of the Wallin fight? Quick dose of COVID? He'll be the interim and therefore the mandatory.
