The entrance is part of the event. The atmosphere for AJ entering against Usyk for example was on another level. Wilder and fury will both make a meal of it this weekend and so they should! It’s an event

Give me the days of simple nothing but a robe or towel and guys holding the title belts in the background. Tyson and Holyfield had simple old school entrances but you could tell they meant business.
Tyson's entrance before Spinks is the greatest ever very simple.
It's also used for intimidation. Guys try to seem bigger than they are to make opponent anxious

Wilder looks like a wolly though. When he wore the basic gold mask with the gold attire, that was good.
what he became later is an absolute joke.

Just looked, Wladimir used it for the fight against Corrie Sanders (didn't work out well for him). Not sure if he ditched it after that one...

On that note, who remembers this?

Apparently Naz was good to go and was waiting for the cue to come out, but there was some kind of mix up behind the scenes so he continued dancing lol as Kelley got riled up waiting

yeah I skip entrances and national anthems, I just browse or do something else. Always liked early Mike Tyson'sno nonsence entrances, but always intimating.

                It's gay, dude. Point blank.

This is part of boxing going from fighters to performers. Don't get me wrong; it's always real in the ring. But it's no coincidence that ring walks have become popular while the idea of high ranking fighters avoiding other high ranked fighters has also become the norm.

I understand why fighters who can make money from fighting less dangerous opponents, or even tomato cans, would choose them. But it's not fun to watch. I tune in to watch champs beat other champs with skill and prowess, tactics and power. I hate mismatches when we all know the outcome ahead of time; it's like watching a bully beat on some ****** fool in the schoolyard.

Hit the fast forward button, and hopefully it's worth watching. And then I mute the ****** commentary. But that's another thread!

That's the only way to stand out--flip the script. Everybody is too busy trying to create an aura, trying to be different in the same way. Know yourself. Keep it real. And get down when the you hear a "ding".

That never goes out of style.

It ain't new, but the fact that it has become the standard is new.
