Fury looks slim during the arrival program. But a slim Fury is still heavier than a heavy Wilder.

Fury wasn't strong enough the last time out ? He certainly looked it. Fury's problem isnt strength. Fury's problem is throwing punches correctly so they have the full force. Fury's movement and jab are his best assets. His power punching techniques are very poor. His doesn't sit down on his punches very well. Throws power punches awkwardly. I'm sure they still hurt because of his size but if Sugar Hill can give him better " power " punching technique, these fights would be over much quicker. All Fury has to do is avoid Wilders right hand and he's got the fight won. Is gaining 20 lbs going to help him avoid punches better? No. All the 20 lb weight gain is going to do is make him less elusive. I'm still picking Fury to win, but in my opinion, gaining 20 lbs was ******.

To be honest Fury doesn't look like 20 pounds heavier than last time.

That's probably overdoing it IMO, he still needs to be able to move in order to pull off the strategy he did last time. Still not expecting it to make that much difference though

After meeting him, Steve Bunce was pretty adamant that he's looking leaner and would come in lighter. But he said that about Ruiz too from memory.

The videos I've seen seem to show he'll be heavier. You can always see it in the face.

So who knows what to believe. I suppose it's been a year and a half since they last set foot in a ring so a fair bit of change (and aging) has taken place.

I'm not convinced Fury needs to be any heavier. He's already got the size and weight advantage, why have more? Is there really an athletic way to be 300 pound?

Deontay is carrying the added weight of muscle ( not FAT like Tyson ) very well, he is still as explosive and quick. D's suit during the ring-walk will not trouble the champ, the haters cant stop this!

If they've been training for it and it's genuinely part of the plan, I expect Fury to have added subtle lean muscle from S&C training, which will remain hidden under his bodyfat. So I can believe he'll be 10-20lbs heavier, while basically looking the same to the untrained eye.

That would also say to me, they are going for basically the same gameplan, but want as much power as possible to try and bludgeon Wilder with - as Fury's doesn't carry crazy power in his shots alone.

I find it extremely hard to believe that he put on TWENTY POUNDS of muscle. That is a huge amount to add especially for someone who has been doing physical training all their lives. This announcement is a huge red flag for me and makes me thing his commitment to preparation has been lacking. Time will tell.
