Mosley Eyes Clottey, Conte Case Moves Forward

Even though Bob Arum said Friday that he has made a deal for his fighter, Joshua Clottey, to challenge "Sugar" Shane Mosley for his welterweight world title Dec. 26 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, there has been no formal announcement. Arum told BoxingScene.com last Friday, "I made a deal with Richard Schaefer [CEO for Golden Boy Promotions] and confirmed it with HBO." [details]

Roids n all, SSM still lost to DLH. Officially, it's a win, but he lost, and most know that. The whole Balco **** is old news anyways. SSM's post Marg luster has died off, and Clottey's bringin the pain. Good fight I favor SSM to win, but Clottey could definitely take it.

i have a feeling shane isnt looking at this like a "big fight"..i think hes in for a rude awakening..because even if he wins (which i dont see happening)..it wont be easy and will probably suffer some "battle scars" and in result of that he may get old over night in his next fight..but if he loses..he will probably retire because if he loses he has to go back to fighting the luis collazo's luis cruz's of the division, and quite frankly hes to old for that kind of stuff now to try and revive his career.

I think Mosley has enough to beat Clottey.

I love Shane Mosley's character, he's a real hoonest guy and it's hard to think that he's lying about all this. He would have served some kind of punishment just like evry other athlete if he was really lying.

I hope Mosley goes in there to absolutely destroy Joshua Clottey and hopefully he gets something bigger in 2010.

Clottey is going to have to be a lot busier if he expects to beat Mosley. He won't though because activity isn't in his nature.

Yea i'm lookin forward to this fight. Shane is a way better technical fighter than clottey and clottey usualy wears people down with his tight defense, than offense really. He doesn't even commit to his punches, or put full extention on them if u notice, he could have had cotto out of there easily IMO if he did. The last thing u wanna do is throw some loose jab out there against shane....or he will fall like the rest of the dominos....vargas, mayorga and margarito. Should be good tho, not taking anything away from clottey, he a tough rugged dude. Also one good body shot from mosley while he has his guard up, and he could be on the floor writhing in pain like when cotto body slammed him, haha.

Mosley knew what was up, which is why he said under oath that he was instructed to call it flaxseed oil.

He may be in for a tough night against Clottey. I have a feeling it'll end though in unsatisfying fashion after a clash of heads. Clottey's always butting people.
