Except, he did get you 'out of there' via beating the piss out of you so badly that your corner had to save your career.Comment

The lineal champion is the one that is simply recognized as the true champion. Which in my opinion should serve us fans well in the time of so many silly alphabet belts. With that said I do agree with the non existent trinket comment because to my knowledge there has never been a lineal heavyweight belt. As I said you are free to you own opinion and I also don't care that you don't care.
It’s real simple, Rocky was the lineal champion who himself has wasn’t the real lineal champion since gene Tunney retired as champion. The whole “lineal” title is a made up farce. It’s Mickey Mouse. As we say in Salford, porky pies. It doesn’t exist. I have heard fury claim he is the champion going back to Sullivan and that’s just a bold faced lie. I dont care who recognises who, it’s a made up non existent trinketComment

Clearly there is no unbroken line going back to Sullivan. You're right that the lineal is an unofficial thing, though it is no more of a made up trinket than the belts. It begins as an unofficial consenus of acclaim: who is the single best. And then passes on to whosoever beats you. That's the lineage. It ends if you leave the ring unbeaten. And then a new lineage begins with the next consensus champ.

Wlad was acclaimed as the lineal. Fury did beat him in the ring. But then left the sport. I say there is no lineal now and we are still looking for the next one. If the winner of Fury/Wilder went on to beat face Usyk, the winner of that fight I would say would be the new lineal. Of course, it is open to contention and of course it is 'made up'. But no more so than the other belts. They were also just made up one day and their champs are no more the legit best in the whole division.Comment

Who does the recognising? And even if I were to accept that and check my brains at the door, this statement comes with the lies of “the man who beat the man who beat the man going back to Sullivan”…..you lot can polish a turd as much as you want it’s still a lump of bullshyt

After this fight Wilder’s done he isn’t going to be able to draw anymore desire to fight. Which if he didn’t have this unstable anger at Fury or Breland he’d have retired after the rematch loss to Fury. Unfortunately he’s going to burn himself out so he better pray he gets his punching power down.Comment

That might’ve been better for all involved as the fighter now believes his corner will betray him without warning. You had a dude who was on a high with a fragile ego who was getting beat up the merciful thing would to be let Fury or the ref end it. All Breland accomplished was creating a situation where the fighter doesn’t trust his team to have best financial interests which to Wilder matters more than his health from a fight.
