He's obviously setting himself up for a potentially lucrative lawsuit for when they say no. As far as I'm aware this is untested ground legally speaking, but he might point to the success of his professional career thus far and argue that had he had the gold medal he would have been even more successful and therefore richer. Could be some good money to be made. Joyce is a smart man.

I guess the problem with this kind of lawsuit is they could argue the corruption is part of what allowed him to reach the final anyway, in reality it’s not, he won his fights but the point stands in a legal case. The case would implicate every fight in the competition because it’s organised corruption, so it’s almost impossible to legally prove that the corruption prevented his gold, or even aided his chances on getting a silver.

So, I don’t see any retrospective changing of the medals or anything like that, sadly.

unless of course they have definitive proof that only specific fights were rigged, and his was one of then, then he has a case.

You are right. I believe Hrgovic beat Yoka especially watching it again however if they meet in the pros I believe Hrgovic will destroy Yoka. Like you said that fight should happen.

Also I will like to see Hrgovic vs Joyce in the pros. Joe Joyce and Hrgovic has fought at the WSB tournament and Joe Joyce walked him down. It should be another exciting match in the pros with good money in it for them all

Reggie Bush won the Heisman trophy somewhere around 2009 and had to forfeit it for "cheating" and USC was stripped of their national title. The runner up for the trophy that year petitioned to recieve it and they basically told him no that no one would recieve it that year. It's not exactly the same scenario but a close example of how it may play out for Joyce. I could see how he will try to be compensated but the ultimate achievement is the Gold for any athlete so it's a sad situation really.

Joyce walked Hrgovic down but he got hit with the cleaner punches . I had Hrgovic winning in that split decision loss but it was close , I believe Hrgovic will stop Joyce late if they fight again. When they fought the limited rounds gave Joyce the advantage anyway .I don’t think Joyce will get the jump on him again.
