Well just for your information it does happen. It happened with Hector Camacho when he got buzzed by Edwin Rosario . That fight permanently ruined the Macho man. He went from your basic boxer/puncher to just a pure boxer who never settled down on his punches for power for fear of getting hurt. Other examples are John Ruiz when he faced David Tua. Afterwards he was known as hugging bear because he no longer like to engage or trade because that Tua Knockout permanently ruined him. The same can be said about Wladimir Klitschko when he was stopped by Lamon Brewster. He was no longer the same fighter. He held and hugged a lot for fear of getting caught and hurt and tiring himself out.

Im talking more along the lines of post 1920, up through to the 50's. But it seems to happen more these days. And a few of your examples...they are questionable. Im talking more along the lines of Left Hook Lacy for example. For example, No one watching Tunney beat Dempsey up would say "Dempsey will never be the same." Dempsey was beat up pretty bad in that fight. And some of the hidings that Lamotta took from Robinson...

I wouldn't write Josh off but I fear it could be another usyk win. But closer this time. Would Josh still be favourite?

AJ can only be aggressive if he had conditioning that he could trust but that's not the case. I don't know if it's anxiety or what but he is very uptight in the ring and I'm sure it drains him. Sort of like DLH was in a lot of his fights.
