While AJ only won 3 rounds, he was able to stay competitive for a good portion of the fight and I won't write off his chances the same way I didn't write Usyk off the first time.

Having said that, those that are vocal about AJ just having to adjust a few things to have a chance are forgetting how dynamic a boxer Usyk is. Like he'll just be exactly the same in the rematch and all AJ has to do is 'be more aggressive, use his size and weight, go to the body blah blah..' if AJ can fight like that, do people think Usyk won't adjust? He ain't Ruiz. There are things he could've done differently in the first fight to be more dominant and even stop AJ.

The rematch isn't a foregone conclusion but is a huge ask for AJ. I think like the first Fury-Wilder fight, Usyk would have seen some things that he can improve on and will likely be more dominant in the rematch, the same way Fury did in his rematch with Wilder.

I said in a thread leading up to the fight that Usyk can win this fight by decision, but it would have to be in dominating fashion. If it was a close fight, there was no way Usyk could get a W with AJ being the face of the heavyweight division. That being said, I do think AJ can win a rematch, but he has to change the game plan and be more aggressive. Throw caution to the wind and really take chances. He cannot outbox Usyk and that's just a fact. AJ has to employ a game plan to utilize his physical attributes over the smaller Usyk. I think he can do it, but not sure he's willing to take the risks it entails to win in that fashion.

        Right I feel you.
I think the rematch will be REALLY interesting.
I am not so sure who I would pick. I lean towards Usyk but AJ will definitely bring it harder in the rematch.

anything can happen but don't you think that AJ wasn't agresive in this first fight beacaus the guy in front of him? i mean, if he can do all those things you guy say he can and should do in a rematch, why didn't he do it last saturday?

Joshua’s jab was not effective...he was just sticking it out there....he really has to put some meat behind and hit usyk every time he came in range....also rough him up inside , body shots and just be brutal in there...it will be hard but if he did that he could cause some damage and cut him up....even though usyk looks good for the rematch there is a chance Joshua could dame him....plus not use to southpaw which is not easy.
he does know how usyk fights now so maybe it will be a little less difficult to overcome.
8 rounds I had it 4 a piece so hope is not totally gone

AJ might come back but it will be extremely hard, and it will depend a lot more on his mental state rather than physical.

I’m pretty sure that Usyk expects a tougher fight in the rematch, as he himself said in the post-fight interview that his toughest fight lies ahead, and I think he meant that about the rematch.
Very well said man, I agree.
Usyk has enough IQ to know what to do if AJ goes to the body.
And it's actually a shame that AJ didn't even go to the body in the fight wow.

I don’t really think the score would matter ,even if Usyk won 12 rounds . It wouldn’t change the way A.J needs to adjust . The end goal is to win the fight and to do that like you said the jab and more body shots . He was hurting Usyk with those uppercut body shots but stopped doing them ? All around it’s safe to say A.J will win the rematch and have a gage on him just like he adjusted to Ruiz . I think it’ll be a harder fight for Usyk to win twice then A.J once .
