I used to be under the mistaken impression that someone needed to be extremely intelligent in order to become president of a country. I’ve learned over the last several years, that’s not really the case. After a while, it’s more of a popularity contest. Good luck to him and hopefully he’ll retire now before he gets badly hurt.

I agree. Many politicians are not particularly intelligent and enough of them are downright simpletons. I wonder when we can expect to see the first re-tard-ed president?……Or have we already witnessed that?

Nah man there is no comparison... I live in the US too.. the corruption i see here is mainly corporation or rich individuals donating to politician's campaign for access..
in fact if not for corruption philippines or any 3rd world country would be 1st world too..

Corruption in the philippines is literally stealing tax payers money.. most common are:

1. To have hundreds of ghost employees.. ghost meaning they dont exist but they get paid.. their salary goes to the pocket of corrupt politician..

2. projects that contractors bribe to win.. say a project is 100 million.. most likely it's really just worth 20 million or less.. 80 million goes to corruption. The worst kind is there is No project at all.. mfers just create falsified documents of supposed projects, 100% goes to their pockets.. politicians are given millions as budget for projects.. office of the president get billions budget for projects..
