There's no way to say this respectfully, so here it is: having someone with a 5th grade education who has a history of terribly mismanaging his money and ******** problems is not exactly the kinda guy you want to try lead a third world country out of poverty.

      I'm sure he's a nice guy.

You beat me to it. Let alone someone who seems to always make excuses. What happens when the island of Jolo flares up again and out come the Abu Sayyaf insurgency? Has manny any exposure to military issues? How will he perform when it comes to the challenging situation of Chinese expansion and conflict with Taiwan and Vietnam? How will he be when it comes to negotiating interest loans and international trade? I could go on all day. To run a business one needs experience in management, education in financial aspects, etc etc. To run a nation, far more is needed.
no one may see it but I have been around long enough to see when shark politicians see a popular figurehead they can manipulate into doing their work for them…..there’s always a man (men) behind the curtain with the control panel….

How business of Trump got bankrupt?

Manny, in my opinion, does not steal tax payer's money, with that qualification alone, he's better than 99% of politicians in the Philippines.
Phillipines don't need another former lawyer or whatever college degree politicians have who's resume looks good on paper but is actually corrupt af.

I know nothing about politics in the Philippines nor do I care to be educated on the subject but I’ll just say this. Go Manny !!! To even be in the position he’s in is incredible considering where most of our beloved boxers end up after they hang em up. Best of luck PacMan

This reminds me of Frank Zappa's intention of running for US President in the early 90s.

Cancer got him first, or else he would have risked another kind of unhappy ending, had he gone on.

I used to be under the mistaken impression that someone needed to be extremely intelligent in order to become president of a country. I’ve learned over the last several years, that’s not really the case. After a while, it’s more of a popularity contest. Good luck to him and hopefully he’ll retire now before he gets badly hurt.

Unless I’m wrong Manny Pacquiao would be the first world champion to become President? Hopefully he wins

Interesting that you have sincere doubts about that assertion.
