Mikey Garcia was considered by almost all of the rating orgs to be a Top 5 welterweight. Blame his fans for bigging him up as a threat to Spence when logic dictated he wasn't.

But Mikey is actually a good point - Crawford isn't a legit welter either. That's why he's never been able to do to any of his 147 opponents what he did to Gamboa - the power didn't come up.

Remember though, Shawn Porter debuted at 154. He won a title at 154, like a third of his fights and 13 out of 17 of his knockouts and stoppages were when he was at 154. So he's a big welterweight like Spence. You're talking two comparatively big guys against someone who's basically a jr. welterweight. That's the thing nobody's talking about but should.

You know how I see this fight going?

Porter/Malignaggi. Minus the stoppage. I say it goes the distance, but I say Crawford will get all he can handle and will be seriously hurt against this guy.

Paulie at that time picked off at range and had great foot movement identical to what Crawford does. But just like Crawford, tended to lose his temper and get into wars unnecessarily; clipped in those exchanges just like Crawford, and Shawn Porter destroyed him with arguably his best overall performance.

Now, the thing is, the version of Porter that fought Spence was 3x the version that fought Paulie. The man is more dangerous now. He doesn't make nearly as many silly mistakes and he's smarter about accuracy, I also argue his chin is more solid than it was and he's a smarter boxer too, clearly evident in the shutout against Formella who WAS landing on him.

Last and most important: Porter has fought at the top level for YEARS. Wars for YEARS. And it's made him ready for the dance, that's experience with tough challenges. Crawford has not had a top level fight in at least 5 years - I frankly think his last real top level challenge was Ricky Burns - and Burns took him the full distance. No top level experience at 147 which has more dangerous people.

That's why I said Crawford should have taken Keef on first. Keef was off a loss, but still a threat, which would have given him big fight 147 experience. I think Porter will be too much.
Personally, I think it plays more like Crawford/Diaz.
    Either way, it's certainly interesting.

I can't wait for this fight. Bud will stop Porter and make all PBC fanboys shut their mouth. He will beat Porter like no one did.

You just run your mouth based on your feelings, without any logic to back it up.
As the fight creeps closer, your **** blowing of any of those bum ass PBC hiders will become less relevant than your weak ass boxing knowledge of who you think is good at WW. It creeps you out that Bud finally has one of those bums signed just to get at the denture wearing, droopy eyed one. You’re ****en shivering…but I expect that you’ll keep on talking like your are now. The reason you’ve posted so many posts in this thread is because Bud has fans here and you’re trying to discredit his resume when you can’t. He has kod what his last 8 opponents. You’ll hear Porter talk about Buds resume, and you’ll hear Porter also talk about how dangerous Bud is. You think you can diminish his comp because you’re comparing it to the PBC bums, lmao, Foh with that weirdo ****. After Bud destroys Porter, if Spence doesn’t answer the call this time, he’s banned from anything that is relevant to boxing with me.

Oh, I don't know about that. Canelo gets plenty of smoke, on this forum anyways.

Some, as with Crawford, deservedly so. Some just because, well, "fans" will be fans!

          Thanks.

            Chump
If money was the issue why didn't Crawford's team jump on the Yordenis Ugas fight?

The fact is they just got fat and comfortable taking low risk fights under the Top Rank Protection Program. Just accept it.

The WBO calling for the mando is forcing Crawford to finally face a top welterweight.

That's what I wanted so as long as the fight goes through I already won. It's a beautiful thing.

These aren’t fans. These are people with too much energy invested in the internet who are bored, lonely and politically polarized. Most of the things people say about Crawford have nothing to do with the actual sport of boxing or Crawford himself and everything to do with promotional outfits and PBC vs. Bob Arum. And none of it is genuine. All of y’all just want to have a voice in the media narrative of dishonesty and distortion.

Crawford has a running streak in him when the going gets tough, if you'd recall.
You've seen him in the Postol fight. Even Beltran made him run in some of the rounds.
John Molina with his inimitable come-forward style made him clinch like a vise grip.

So I wouldn't be surprised if he'll, or forced to, employ such survival tactics in this fight.

Ugas is STILL a complete unknown even after beating Pacman. Crawford trying to GAIN steam not throw it away.

Why did Crawford offer Danny Garcia a career high payday and what wouldve been his 1st PPV main event??? Danny turned it down and fought Granados.

Why did Crawford publicly challenge Spence? Spence turned it down and said he doesnt fight blacks (despite fighting Porter, old af Peterson, and many others) and taunted TC for being "on the other side of the street"????

Why did Thurman price himself out when he was begging for a big fight after Pacman ??? He wanted 4x his career high purse to fight Crawford...why ?

                  Wake up BOY.

Porter will be the best opponent Crawford has faced in his entire career. And he's doing it at age 34.

It is what it is. No matter how emotional you get about it.
