You must be be new to boxing if you put any weight on KO ratio. Some guys are just happy to go the distance if they're winning & some insist on a KO. Ali let loads of guys go the distance & lose but he could be destructive if the opponent got too eager. Tyson Fury's record is full of points wins but, again, he can be destructive when he needs to be. Holyfield has a much lower KO ratio than Tyson because he fought a much higher calibre of opponent.

There's a lot people who are bullish about Wallin here, but I'm not convinced. The best thing he's done remains getting a good lick in on Fury and opening up a big cut. He beat Breazeale on points, who is fooking shlte and he lost to Fury. I don't see it. Whyte is not all that, but he is far better than Breazeale. Whyte by stoppage.

Im rooting for my Otto Wallin but I think Whyte got this one. Too strong.

Wallin while hes a decent boxer has no power whatsoever, and to that guy who was talking about ooh ur a casual if u base anything off of KO percentages.

Well, that would be the case if boxing didnt suck as a sport. But because boxing is a corrupt sport, you CANNOT win on points against the cash cows. So you NEED that KO power to win.

Good luck getting a decision vs AJ or Canelo.

The shots Wallin was hitting Breazeale with would hurt Whyte . Whytes not really a better boxer then Wallin nor has his abilities to Parry shots and keep on balance . Whytes biggest concern will be to keep Wallins pace . One other thing is both Fury and Breazeale were extremely big guys trying to lean on him ,Whyte is far smaller then those guys in shape so Wallins going to have much more breathing room here and if Wallin gets into rhythm he’s definitely going to win unless Whyte stops him with a blunt punch ,I really don’t see him out working Wallin .

Right now Wallin is being used in a proxy war for different camps of cheerleaders. Some pro-Fury types are inflating him for obvious reasons, others in other camps are tearing him down for other obvious reasons. His performance will be used to slag some and hype others more than it will be used to rate him or Whyte.

I like Wallin, part of it is the fact he's trained by Gamache. I like the fact that he comes off as a decent guy and he's willing to fight anyone.

I think he's a big skilled boxer. He's a southpaw which brings advantages and he appears to be able to take a decent punch. He doesn't have the heaviest of hands and fades a bit in later rounds.

I don't think he's going to run the table on the big three but I think he's a threat to the majority of fighters in the next tier. I have no clue if he beats Whyte but I'm looking forward to seeing it happen and will be pulling for him to win.

Thanks for trying to articulate a reasoned argument, which is more than you get here most times!

I take your point about the size of Wallin, Breazeale, Fury, etc.

At the same time, Whyte has fought Helenius and Joshua (with mixed results) but not really looked like he was being bossed because of size. Not an uninteresting fight. Full credit to Wallin if he does win, but as I say, I am sceptical.

As above, thanks for your thoughts. I do think he has some skills and speed for a man of his size and I think I'd put myself somewhere close to your prediction -- no clue if he wins, though (and here we differ, I imagine) I'd lean slightly more toward Whyte if pushed to predict.
