Dad seems very classy and obviously a very tough man for sending his son to go back out there and take that beating.

"But he was in a fight. Anything less than that then you’re f------ soft.
“If you can’t take that don’t watch boxing, bro. Jr.’s fine. We knew he was fine. There’s a lot of ******* out there. You motherf------ are soft.”
I love it. This is boxing where the old school gladiator mentality should reign.Comment

If he knew he was fine why'd he try and stop the fight in the final round?"But he was in a fight. Anything less than that then you’re f------ soft.

The problem is with father trainers is the too often the father is training his son during the day and learning on how to be an actual trainer at night. These guys are not real boxing trainers.
I thought Bill stepped back from training his son?Comment

When there is no benefit to be had by continuing the fight, you pull them out. His career could be over before it's even begun. And for what? Misplaced ego?
I'd sure love to see his dad be in that position though so he can show us how it's done. Yeah, sure. He'd quit in a second taking a one sided beating.Comment

No, but it happens sometimes with people who hang out and are closer, son and dad, mom and daughter (sis). It usually denotes they are closer in age and are friends. His dad isn't ancient. (I really hated watching that. I was neutral. That beating was unnecessary. Out of a sorrow I became a big fan and hope he retires, but I'll support him if he fights on.) Dad needs to distance himself from the training duties. That was not cool.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 09-17-2021, 09:05 PM.Comment
