Garcia is basic. Like Barrios is basic. That's why Davis was put in with Barrios. Perfect warm up for a Garcia fight, in which he's now shown the size won't be an issue. Garcia is right that Davis will only do in-house, and we didn't need Floyd to tell us that, it's been so obvious anyway. But if there's one fight that they break that rule for its Garcia. Davis knocks Garcia out and they know it. Oscar knows it too after seing him dropped by Campbell, so unless Garcia shows massive improvement, he's waiting it out until the danger reaches 140.
This is why I dislike Floyd after retirement. I supported Floyd the boxer but I cant tolerate him at all as a manager or promoter. Dude is cringe in so many ways and basically does everything he complained about.
Ryan will outgrow Tank quickly as his frame is just so much bigger. Ryan also has a higher ceiling than Tank...nonetheless theyre both good entertainment and close to must-see boxing.
People forget when a fighter is out of the gym for a long period its difficult to return and make weight. Ryan is young so he might be able to with his faster metabolism but a guy like Spence is VERY UNLIKELY to return to 147 (if at all). Spence will likely get hurt or stopped in his next fight if he fights again.
So its no guarantee Ryan returns to LW at allComment

I agree.....Tank literally would kill Lyin Garcia...and Devin Haney would win nearly EVERY SINGLE ROUND against the fake Mexican.Comment

Call him Cryn Ryan or whatever you want, but the fact remains is Gayweather kept that fat thug Gerva.gina away from Loma and is now keeping him away from anyone with a pulse.Last edited by El_Maldito_Rey; 09-16-2021, 01:01 PM.Comment

When? When has he not? I am a bit of a Tank fan, and I think Mayweather is doing that kid wrong, but I have to keep it real. Keep it 100. Tank has moved up and fought interim champions. Loma almost cleared out a division, a division that is three weight classes above where he started. He did that below too. He fought a Gary Russel Jr., who is a phenomenal boxer. He fought Linares when Linares was still in his prime, a boxer who Emmanuel Steward said was one of the best, if not the best, boxers he's ever seen (he really said that). If you look at Linares matches that he lost, aside from Loma and Cano, he was never really knocked out or anything. He lost on either BS or because he cuts easily. He had the short end of the stick in some of those losses. Linares, IMO, is Haney's best win. And Haney almost got KTFO fighting Linares.
Pedraza is a good boxer too. Pedraza was beating Tank but decided to fight Tank's fight and was TKO'd. But if you look at the fight, Floyd was flipping out for most of it because Tank was letting Pedraza get the better of him.
Campbell? Well, he's not the most amazing boxer. No offense to Garcia, but Campbell seems to fall short when it matters. And Campbell almost knocked Garcia TFO. Does that mean that Campbell is not that bad or that Garica is not all that good? Maybe somewhere in between. Maybe time will tell.
I want to put Rigo in there, but man, Rigo has let me down too much. I had Rigo in my top 5 favorite boxers ... but man, I just don't know. (And before you say he was too small, Rigo was fighting at 126 before. He'd move up and down.) Rigo can be amazing one night and look like garbage the next. It's hard to say.
Whatever the case, Loma fights world champions unless he's fighting a mandatory. That's more than what Tank has done, for sure. You really can't argue that. (Yeah Tank fought an interim champ at 140, but if I remember right, Tank was losing that fight too, before he got the TKO, and Floyd told him so in the corner. Floyd was flipping out again.)Comment

Davis resume however is not as good as Ellerbe claims. And he's surely past the building up stage. I don't even see Garcia as a big fight for Davis. Popular maybe, but in boxing terms not big. Barrios was only decent because there was a question in size disparity. Take that out of the equation and Barrios wasn't special. And neither is Garcia, and I believe Barrios was the perfect warm up for that. Davis is such a talent. He needs those special fights now.
Yes. Their building Tank’s brand. I don’t see what is wrong with that. I also think his resume is a bit better than people claim.
Like Barrios. Tank moved up. He fought a decent opponent. Yet he gets criticized.
How many guys move up and fight the top guy immediately?Comment
