Most Memorable Fight Card You Attended?

I was just thinking about this. I've been to a decent amount over the years...mostly smaller level cards that you'd see on ESPN back in the day or that weren't televised at all.

For me the one I always go back to was Frans Botha and Shannon Briggs in 1999. It was a pretty good fight with a great atmosphere. Marco Antonio Barrera was on the undercard in an uneventful fight.

The runners up to that would probably be Beterbiev/Gvozdyk (incredibly violent) and Gatti/Ward II (the least exciting of an epic trilogy).

I don’t go to a lot of live fights but I’m going to pick Stevie Johnston vs. Jose Luis Castillo 1.

I thought I was going to a Johnston showcase, yet I ended up seeing a fighter I would come to admire for the rest of my life.

Canelo vs Liam Smith Id say just because of the venue. 50,000 plus screaming Mexicans in the home of the Cowboys was something to behold. The fights were meh but the environment was fun.

Me and my brothers, plus Dad went to the Floyd vs Judah fight. We were all fans of both and thought if anything Zab’s speed could be something. I know Zane had lost to Carlos Badlomir, so I think that’s why they stacked the card. Jorge Arce ( one of my favs ) was on the card. Juan Diaz the baby bull was also there. Also PAC’s brother. Julio Caesar Chavez was fighting , also with his Dad present. I sat next to Rodger The Dodger Leonard. I can’t stress enough how cool he was. I didn’t want to wear him out or anything, but he was open to conversation and obviously knows his stuff. He appreciated that I was there with my family. He let me take a picture wearing Ray championship ring. I took a pic with chop chop Corley an their was plenty of stars in the concourse in between fights. Little John was there with his “Krunk cup”. The loudest pop came when the announced magic Johnson on the crowd. It was huge.

Was that in Colorado? I remember watching one of those Stevie Johnston fights on TV and it was in Denver area.

Awesome story man. That's a great experience with Rodger Leonard ringside. I had the opportunity to meet Marvis Frazier one time and he was incredibly humble and funny. He was surprised I recognized him and when I told him I'd seen him fight on TV, he asked me if i saw him standing up or laying down.

LSC vs Mares I had a nice atmosphere.

My first card I attended was Floyd vs Sosa and Cotto was on the undercard. Will always remember that card and how all the advertising done before the fight was about the Alcorn vs St. John fight lol.

Floyd vs Maidana I was also great.

Ward vs Kessler was dope (Almost all Ward fight cards were awesome just with how the crowd is)

Ramirez vs Reed (Beterbiev looked so average, the crowd was booing throughout the fight lol)

Like you, a lot of the best fight cards are local cards without big names. But these were some of the cards I enjoyed or remember vividly.

                  Broner Vs Maidana
                  Santa Cruz vs Cesar Ceda
Keith Thurman vs Soto Karass I believe?

Also a shell of a fighter from my birth state who calls himself “Bad Intentions” was fighting when we arrived.

Solid card which ended in everyone throwing beer and popcorn and shlt at AB as he left the ring.

I kind of felt bad for him.
