UFC might be doing better than boxing at the moment, sure, but when a big boxing fight comes around the world will stop and watch as it always does when a big boxing fight is on.

Now compare that to UFC. the only fight of that magnitude in the entire history of MMA was Khabib/McGregor

Meanwhile boxing has a fight like that every few years

Joshua/Fury is next year. Biggest fight in combat sports since Floyd/Pac.

MMA has the little brother syndrome. They have to keep proving their worth. People think its cute.

Boxing doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.

    Boxing ALWAYS bounces back.

Enjoy your 15 minutes. Because that's all what is happening in terms of popularity of both sports at the moment is.

15 minutes? more like the 6+ years since Floyd/Pac. Even before that the UFC was doing good numbers much more consistently and with a much wider range of names for years while boxing was basically entirely reliant on those two and milking the **** out of their eventual fight for over half a decade.

Which monumental world stopping boxing matches have been happening every few years since Floyd/Pac?

Joshua/Fury has been next year for years, just like Joshua/Wilder was. And even if it does happen eventually, its one fight that does big numbers after being marinated forever, then what?

What is that nonsense in your signature? Clarence who sexually harassed women, Ben 31k of tax payer money on a dining set for his office and blamedthe wife etc. That's your definition of respectable? In a country where the the former pres incited an insurection and supports dometic terrorism, it might make sense. You're probably setting the table for mid terms lol

That's called the long con, basically boxing until the Duran/Leonard era. Long con is like the big lie, few outside north america understand how anyone falls for it...but it's the same way extremist were recruiting kids to travel overseas lol.

I'm not going to spend money watching this trash but I don't begrudge them and I'm not mad. I'm mad at the promoters ruining the real sport of boxing with their BS in house fights. Short term bigger profits at the expense of the fans and the future of the sport.

Because boxing isn't making the fights, opportunists are capturing the fans real boxing should be taking in. Nature hates a vacuum

Whilst I'm not a fan, I've got too give Jake Paul credit. He can pick who he wants to fight, basically whatever suits him. Which makes him about the only guy fighting on Showtime that can do that, not just now but fir quite some time.

I'm not a fan of this, but if these two were just your average no name, novice boxers going about their buisness, starting out down the card on a small hall show, not you or anyone else would bat an eyelid. So the problem is not these guys boxing and its disrespectful to say their not cos they just did. It's the fact that their headlining PPV events and making a fortune and have built popularity through other means that is really pissing people off. But they are still fighting and putting it on the line. Do we need to see one of them have a Maxim Dadashev situation before they'll be called boxers? There's a UK heavyweight called Fabio Wardley that had 4 white collar fights then turned pro and he's doing not too badly ( not that I'm saying he's gonna be great ) and its ok for him to be called a fighter. Why? Because he's not a you tuber? Is Ryan Garcia a boxer or a you tuber? Seems to me he's both lol so is that acceptable? Pray for Jake Paul to get beat like the rest of us but get off the guys back. He's working it and can get hurt as much as the next man.

He has dedicated the last three years of his life to boxing, takes it seriously, trains hard in pro gyms with pro fighters, he doesn't blow up beetwen fights. He respects the sport.

He's more professional than clowns like Broner or Tank. He's much less talented obviously and his ceiling is much lower, but he's more dedicated than them.

Enhance your calm, John Spartan. I personally have little use for for the brothers however I do acknowledge they bring a lot of attention in the sport and as long as showtime is putting real boxers on the undercards in good fights then it’s a win win for the sport.

But we are at an unprecedented stage now where a lot of the highest profile fights in boxing dont even involve boxers anymore. Its a bad look.
