No you just want to be right like the little kid that covers his ears and screams .

The link will show you it was a punch . The only thing you are right about is Jake was initially going back but stops ,leaves his head exposed and gets clocked from not being properly planted then falls back before Woodley leg even goes forward .

Guess what the rules in boxing are if the ropes hold an opponent up ?

Is it just a referee decision?

It's a judgement call. It's at the referee's discretion whether they would rule it a knockdown or not. The referee actually blew that call. I think I heard them say that he had only refereed six professional fights in his career.

Likewise, I believe that Woodley's lack of ring experience and lack of conditioning cost him that fight as well. He needed to know when to step on the gas pedal. Jake Paul was badly gassed but either Tyron was either too clueless, fatigued or unwilling to take the necessary risks or chances to test Jake.

Obviously, this was his very first professional boxing match because his inexperience and lack of conditioning was so clearly telling. He allowed a Golden opportunity slip through his hands. Both his punch volume and work rates were just too low.

Thats what I thought. Thanks for the clarification.

I agree Woodley should've went for the kill but its understandable that he wouldn't know how to finish someone off in his 1st pro fight.

Woodley has had a 12 year fight career and has more wins by stoppages then submissions . Now I understand MMA stoppages are different and how you can get them but even in submission wins he’s not new to knowing how to end someone’s night .

Woodley has the actual experience of finishing guys . I think he thought he was going to coast but fell into the trap all people who never boxed before fall into which is boxing can zap you all of a sudden if you aren’t accustomed to the rounds .Jake himself tired very quickly because he never went past 2 rounds that’s why it was lack luster .

Woodley showed to much respect in the first couple rounds that was his sweet spot here and cost him the fight ,I think he’d probably lose a rematch in a not hard to score fight because Jake will be more aware and Woodley seems to not be made for actual boxing he is just to accustomed to the MMA set up striking which is great in a cage if grappling is used but not a ring .

If he wasn't tripped maybe a KD would have been scored. Excellent eye by the ref. Learn from him wanker.

Whoever says that the ropes didn't hold up Jake after that punch did not watch the fight. The rope clearly kept him from hitting the canvass.

Guys like you see what they want. Even Jake says that he got caught good with that punch. You are one of those guys that didn't see the fight and go with what other say or what they post.
