Jake Paul Got a Big Win For Boxing!!!

For those saying Paul isn't a boxer and he's a circus show (Mainly SSM), here are the facts:
1. He's been training CONSISTENTLY for three years
2. He's now had four professional fights and has kept a steady schedule (three fights in 9 months)
3. Clearly has some ability and isn't a complete novice
4. Beat a former MMA champion who was a solid striker and has okay fundamentals
5. What exactly makes Tommy Fury a "professional boxer" and not Jake Paul? Paul actually fought an 8 rounder last night and a tougher opponent lol.
That's my TED talk of the day!Comment

Hes got some ability but the issue is that its a guy with not even journeyman level skills fighting guys that arent even actual boxers, and these are now some of the most high profile fights in boxing. Its not a normal thing for one of the top stars in a sport to be a guy with D level skills in that sport. For those saying Paul isn't a boxer and he's a circus show (Mainly SSM), here are the facts:

I can't but help think that Jake is a knockout waiting to happen. He only needs to face a real boxer and he's going to get blasted. He's waaaay too amaturish looking and makes tons of mistakes. The fact that he's been larger than all his opponents truly helps him I think. To take a punch better from a smaller guy and for them to feel his power more.
He talked about not wanting people to bully in his post-fight interview but I feel like he's a weight bully himself in the ring. Let him face someone his actual size and a true boxer and he's going to be brutally KO'd. Don't get me wrong, his slop fest fights are entertaining, but let's be real of the truth, he is a KO waiting to happen if he faces a real boxer.Comment

That's fine, Tyson came back in an exhibition at the age of like 55 and had the biggest PPV we have seen in YEARS. The level of fighter you are isn't what draws the most in boxing or combat sports.

Obviously he is not great, but some are acting like he is a complete bum from the street and can't even throw a proper right hand. He did some nice things in the fight and showed he can even take a punch and not get rattled.
No one has answered this yet, but why is Tommy Fury considered a professional boxer? Look at who he has fought. Why does no one question if Fury is truly a boxer or not?Comment

Jake Paul anywhere near the sport is a massive L for boxing. I hope he gets seriously injured. He treats this sport like a joke, when it’s anything but.Comment

How does he treat it as a joke? The man just started training three years ago and has consistently stayed in the gym....Heck, he's stayed in the gym more than some champions or former champions in boxing!
Taking it as a joke would be not preparing and just showing up for a check and looking for the first way out when given the opportunity. He did not do that at all last night.Comment

Jake does not represent boxing. I’m a diehard 20 year boxng fan and I was pulling for Woodley. Was also pulling for Silva vs Chavez. Don’t give a **** about ufc vs boxing. Enjoy them both. Boxing ain’t going anywhere. They’ve been saying it’s a dying sport for decades. It’s just next man up like always. There will always be another superstar just wait.Last edited by Boxingb32; 08-30-2021, 10:13 AM.Comment

Thank you, sir. I said similar stuff last night. I made the mistake of watching that clown show, but will never do so ever again. Nothing good about him.Comment
