in MMA they are naturally closing the distance on each other as they need to for take downs. There is no incentive for Jake to get close to woodley, he has every incentive to box on the outside.
Your right, I noticed that also, I was holding court with my son lol. Woodley had good effective aggression, and he was very smart to keep a gap between them... Looked like an old time fighter because they used to try to keep a gap, a sword length, between them and the opponent. Woodley had the ring cutting, and the gap down, but he couldn't enter the gap... It was right there all night... when Paul reached with the lazy jab, any boxer could work in the gap with a fast step and catch him over that lazy jab. Woodley will shiat on himself if he sees tape lol.

I credit him because he had that much down, just could not get the last piece and it is all related to not knowing how to shoot the gap, close the distance.

Just horrible... lol For real professional boxers, this must be like jazz musicians listening to a teenage punk band.

Yup. Woodley had a dead man in front of man and didn't throw punches.

It looked like he was paid to lose. So many chances to counter. They just used woodley's name.

The sport has always had fighters who were a bigger draw than their boxing skills justified... so I can't be too against what Paul is doing.

But you've got to respect the sport a bit more. If he's serious about boxing then it's time he took on a boxer.

woodley had so much left in the tank. I highly suspect he carried Jake intentionally. When jake was tired he didnt increase his punch output or pressure. he also took some flush shots from jake and KNEW that jake couldnt hurt him.

Yeah thats what it looked like. He wasn't countering and punching back for a reason. He got a bag under the table.
