However, what I did notice that I didn't observe when I was actually watching the fight at the MGM, was PAC's clinching.
PAC's clinching wasn't simply hugging, it was very strategic the way he did it. I don't know if it was Roach or Moorer or maybe they had got some tips from some MMA guy.
If you look at how whenever Hatton gets in close, PAC right away would get his underhooks in, and PAC would really seal off any distance between him and Hatton. Getting the underhooks in and not giving any space between them totally nullifies what Hatton does best, which is grab and punch. With Hatton unable to break-off the underhooks, he's not able to get the leverage and space needed to let off those sneaky uppercuts and hooks to the body while grabbing a hold of his opponents other arm.
