I'd pick prograis against Garcia and broner but can't see him beating Davis, Lopez or Haney

'I like Prograis but I think he’s trying to cherry pick on small guys coming up or shop worn Broner for a good payday and trying to be the 1st guy to stop Broner. He doesn’t call for a rematch against Josh Taylor whom he fought a good fight against but I feel like the judges the better man got the decision. '

Don't agree, Hitmanjosh, Regis has called for a rematch with Josh since the first fight ended. He's had to accept he isn't in Josh's immediate future &, quite rightly, he doesn't want to wait around. Gervonta is definitely too small for Regis &, IMO, would be mad to fight him. I don't think Teofimo is too small, he has been talking about moving up. Haney also looks like a L/w big enough to move to 140 at some point. Mikey & Adrien both a bit shopworn but still good names & I wouldn't call either a 'gimme'.

He wants to stay at 140 and cherry pick a gatekeeper and 4 lightweights.

Man up, fight some real 140 guys, like Zepeda, Ramirez, Postol, Barboza..

None of them will fight him.

I've noticed if an American fighter gets whipped by a top Euro prospect they are semi-black listed and will never get fights with top PBC fighters

          See Gary Russel

Prograis is ranked high in all 4 bodies, but I have no faith that he'll get significant opponents unless he signs with TR/PBC.

While everyone is talking about Prograis vs Broner/Davis, the fight I want to see Prograis/Matias.

This kid is an excellent fighter, with a no BS personality. A creole, from my wife's neck of the woods... I like to think he is trying to make a go of it avoiding all the horrid promoters. He is likable and could use a social media presence to make his moves... At least that is what I hope. As far as his ability... I think he has the mental maturity, the skills, to fight guys who are younger and have less experience. he would be a tough fight for any of the prospects... Lopez, Haney, Davis... Ryan if he is still in the mix.

his problem is that the promoters know he is not an easy win. And that is why boxing is shiat. A tough workman like skilled guy, who poses a real risk is not desired. Hopefully he finds a way to get a fight. Far as him protecting the flag (so to speak) at 140... whats wrong with that?

The European fans here support their fighters, taking great pride in their geography, etc. Ward fought out of Oakland his whole career, and to this day does the East Bay proud. This kid is a true product of Nah Orleans!! He is proud of his roots and wants to represent... protect his piece of the landscape (140). I say "bravo!" Make 140 your back yard, as long as you can get some fights.

A lot of the guys fighting below 140 are destined to move up... Guys like Lopez, even Tank... Haney, all are growing. They will probably be on a cash course to fight at 140... either as a destination itself, or as a stop on the way to getting even bigger.

So, no... the guy does not want to cherry pick, he wants to fight at a belt where the action will come to him... Regis is not a kid, he can fight at this weight as long as he stays in shape. Make it so these prospects have a hard time ducking him... and he may even get a fight with one of them if one of the promoters goes missing in action.

Zepeda wont last all 12 in his next fight; to go up there again Prograis has to fight smn dangerous, high risk low reward kind of fight, chasing all those names on twitter doesnt help, Matias is the perfect dancing partner
