Can Ortiz jr. and Boots beat elite welterweights?

Can they beat Crawford, Spence, Pacquiao, Ugas, Porter?

I believe both of them beat Pacquiao, who is clearly done. Somehow I believe they can beat Porter. I am not so sure about Spence, Crawford and Ugas.

    Boots yes.

Ortiz is green in the boxing department of things. Those guys aren’t going to fold from a big punch and will probably beat him by decision.

Only one way to find out. I think Ennis skills and fighting style is advanced compared to Ortiz. I think Ortiz has faced a better pro fighter than Ennis has though. I think Ugas vs Ennis and Ugas vs Ortiz would be very very interesting fights. I would like to see Vergil Ortiz fight Thurman next. I wouldn't mind a Vergil Ortiz vs Jessie Vargas fight.

Ennis will be exposed soon. Ugas already lost to a Tijuana cab driver and a couple of bums so maybe Ennis can beat him, but Ortiz wipes the floor with Ugas.

Ortiz's experience against better comp will serve him well when/if he gets a shot at those guys. Ortiz vs both Spence and Crawford imo is 50/50,everyone else, he runs through fairly easily. Need to see Boots against better comp to see where he's at.

Ugas is not the same fighter he was then. He's matured, grown (as a fighter and person) and developed.
Those fights were back when he was half ar5ing it out clubbing in Miami. Now he is taking his career seriously he is a totally different beast.

Too answer the question I am not sure.
I actually wouldn't class Porter as an elite WW - I think he is half a step maybe a level below them though obviously he can give them all a good scrap.

I think a Shawn Porter would be the next logical step and the only real way we'll be able to get any real gauge on Boots or Ortiz Jr vs the elite.
I'd like to see them next, I think both need to step it up to that level already. If they're not now ready then I'm assuming they will never be.

Fight Porter next, there is no real risk.
Worst case you get roughed up and lose a close decision. He's not knocking anyone out or putting a serious beating on anybody.

Worst case is you lose a close one and its a good learning experience. You'd learn more from that than fighting 10 Dulormes.

You lose so Porter so what he gives everyone as good as he gets almost, you can rebuild. You beat him in style though, a star is born.

I know boxing is about no risks these days but I just don't see how you lose with this. Porter should be the next step its a win-win imo

At 23 yrs old Vergil is already ranked in the Top 5 of many welterweight rankings, if that’s not elite don’t know what is. The kid has a 100% KO ratio which includes former champions (Hooker, Herrera) and just recently a Top 10 welterweight contender in Mean Machine. Vergil has wrecked all his opponents none of which have yet to make it pass the 8th round, that’s elite at least to me.

Ortiz can, his team have been stepping him up every single time and are actively after crawford meanwhile boots and his team have no faith in him he could have finally faced a top 15 ranked figther in clayton but they declined that instead chose the unranked comming of 2 loses duloreme.
