That's not to say getting choked unconscious is okay for your brain either. Not sure what the long-term effects are but they cannot be good.

I just watched 2 Spence interviews. One back before boxing Brook, and one right after the Garcia bout. Sounds exactly the same. What you’re hearing is his southern drawl. It’s his Texan accent. I work with a guy who’s from Texas. We call him, “Big Texas.” Has the exact same accent as Spence. Calm down.

All I’m saying, is not every injury is the same. What happened to you and your situation is completely different from Spences situation. Every car accident is different. Every person is different and every person recovers from injuries different.

We will see what happens to him. If the doctors say he’s fine, if he feels fine, his loved ones feel fine, and if his team feels fine, he’s fine.

That car crash took a lot more of Spence than we had originally thought. I said it then and I am saying it now that no one can go through an ordeal like Spence had and expect to come out as the same person.

It's highly likely that Spence had retinal damage prior to the Danny Garcia fight also but was cleared to fight anyway because he was fighting in his home state of Texas.

I understand that Al Haymon had to pay Manny Pacquiao his guarantee; Which was why he chose the state of Nevada as the venue.

However, if Spence wants to continue his boxing career in the future, then he should never fight outside of the state of Texas again or risk not getting cleared to fight again.

It's like when you take your car to the mechanic for a routine oil change.......An hour later, your mechanic will call and find x y and z is wrong with your car. I honestly do not believe that Spence wanted an excuse to get out of fighting Pacquiao. So many top fighters aimed for a shot at Pacquiao, as he is their lottery ticket to money, fame, and glory. Spence landed the jackpot when Pacquiao said, "I'll fight you". I don't think Spence wanted out of the fight. If anyone could beat Pacquiao, it would be Spence. I just hope he makes a speedy recovery in time to get that Pacquiao fight......before Pacquiao is dethroned. Because, It will be a helluva fight!!!!
          Good post and Well said!

I apologize you’re correct. What I was trying to get at is losing consciousness from something won’t necessarily permanently damage you.

People talking about how Spence suffered a concussion…..Does everyone forget how Pac was KO’d almost a decade ago? He was unconscious for quite awhile. Since that time he’s had many fights, some very brutal, and many sparring camps in which he’s accumulated a lot of wear and tear. There’s no proof that Spence has declined because of the accident. I will say this though….Every fighter loses a small or large part of themselves with each fight, depending on the brutality of the battle and the training camp they had. In fact everything in a fighter’s life chips away at their formidability with each day. The same goes for all people. Time and life wear us down. My point is that as far as we’ve seen there is no proof that Spence is less than he was before the accident. I suspect there might be a little more “give” in him now but no more so than Pac after he got KO’d. In fact Pac is the one who has lost more of himself at this advanced stage of his fighting career.

Yeah I’d say if it happens over and over again it probably wouldn’t be good.

Thanks and I agree. As good as Pacquiao has looked in the ring, it's safe to say, he won't be fighting much longer. It really seems like a longshot that Spence will get a second chance. Pacquiao is fighting Ugas. Ugas is similar in size to Crawford. I think if Pacquiao gets past Ugas, he has set the tables to fight Crawford next. After that fight, win, lose, or draw.......he'll probably be done.

Sounds like a plan to me. Crawford will definitely retire Manny if it indeed does happen
