I love watching the highlights of his fights because he's so fluid and natural. And that left hand is so precise and snappy.

But he doesn't throw anywhere near enough punches. If he threw like 2/3 more combos per round he woukd be great to watch.

    He is a surgeon.

He doesn't have enough variety in his offensive game. He is a very fluid and natural and a great defensive fighter, but he doesn't know how to transfer from defense to offense...I just recently watched Mayweather vs Maidana II and while Mayweather moved quite a bit that fight, he would throw counter hooks, uppercuts, come off the ropes and fire shots. Rigo just throws the occasional sharp left hand and just moves around the ring after making his opponent miss.

I have come to the conclusion that Rigo now fights like this to spite everyone who says he is boring to watch. He simply doesn't care about the audience anymore: "this is who I am, take it or leave it". Too bad.

Yeah, gun-shy came to mind, couldn't pull the trigger enough. Tatabanya's explanation is good (and probably right, now checking Rigo's twitter for the first time) and funny way of Rigo to play heel but it works only if he is winning and with this approach he is going to be always susceptible to loss.

You’re not wrong tbf. That Donaire performance was unbelievable. I definitely believe Rigo was a potential ATG. Unfortunately he was criminally avoided in his prime but he also refused to help himself by fighting so negatively. He spurned so many opportunities to make a statement that he was more than just a defensive wizard.

Rigo is a pot shot artist who rarely throws combinations. He does have enough snap and pop on his punches once he decides to settle down on them for power. However, he does have an excellent defense though.

i think even if rigo stays and exchange, he'll probably win like 95% of the exchanges anyways.... not sure why he resort to his running style that gets criticized by everyone??? i think if he would be a lil more aggressive, he'll just win the exchange because of his speed and accuracy.

i disagree... i think he has enough power to make his opponent respect him.. i just dont know why he doesnt let his hands go more often.. will probably win the exchanges too.

I don't see the slightest hint of greatness from Rigo, just a tinier, runnier version of Lara & 10x more boring to watch. I genuinely don't consider him a professional boxer,I think Rigo is more suited to endurance hunting instead of boxing. Except that if he were a Kalahari endurance hunter hed be required to actually chase something for once instead of getting chased.

Yeah he needs to throw more. Most bantamweight headlining fights usually have close to 1,000 punches thrown if it goes the distance.

If he fought like he did against Solis he’d have gotten a lot less flack.

He also may have gotten ktfo!!!
