Marquez can hurt PBF IF and only IF he can hit PBF flush.....PBF has one of the best defense in boxing as evidenced by his fight with castillo and baldomir

Floyd's chin is pretty sturdy as well.

          I'm going with option #2.

If he lands with something (most likely a counter), wonderful things will happen. But if he tries being the aggressor (and thus allowing Mayweather to tee off on him), I don't see wonderful things happening.

At first, I was pretty certain that Marquez would exploit the long layoff to outhustle and outpoint a rusty Mayweather. Unlike most fans, I don't think the size difference is as substantive as it is made out to be. In my ever-so-humble opinion, inactivity is a bigger disadvantage than a few pounds of size deficit.

I rewatched some fights recently, and was reminded that despite Marquez landing some solid combos flush on Pacquiao, and hitting Barrera with a lot of punches, he wasn't able to finish them off. Or even hurt them enough to get close to that. Nah, he can't stop Floyd.

Then, he gains weight and dusts off Casamayor and Diaz - both for the first time in their respective careers. Marquez did what a stiff-punching Katsidis could not do. So I was thinking that, like Pacquiao, JMM benefited from the move to a higher weight class.

So, I thought "well, maybe. If he hits Floyd with the kind of punch Corley or Zab did, JMM is a good enough fighter to finish Floyd". Plus, Mayweather will be more tired late in the fight than he has been in a looong time. Perhaps Marquez can TKO a fatigued Floyd.

What do you guys think? Do you envision a scenario where Marquez could hurt Floyd enough to get the KO/TKO? More likely a TKO?

I don't see a straight one-punch KO happening. VERY unlikely. But what about a flurry of punches (a la Oscar/Vargas)?
Unless Floyd is super rusty or old then Ill say what Ive said on here a million times. I dont think a righty can hit a Prime Mayweather clean. I truly beleive that. You might get a lucky jab or a quick little punch out the blue every now & then but you wont land hardly anything, let alone anything effective. You compare JMM to Zab & Chop but they caught him because they were Southpaws. A righty cant do that to Floyd. With that being said, I also say that if there was any righty in history that could do it then its JMM because he thows such precise punches and he throws them straight down the pipe like a Southpaw would. It will be fun to watch

JMM can and will hurt Floyd. The speed differential may be evident, but when a guy punches from the awkward angles that JMM does he is bound to land.

Floyd will be 33 in a few months and has been very inactive (four fights in four years). For a "speed guy" who fought most of his career at SFW and LW, that is a bad recipe.

He will be rusty. That's almost a given.

Yep... two weeks from tonight, I'll have those "big fight" butterflies I always get.

When is the FINAL ep of 24/7?
