Marquez is gonna have to focus on floyd's body & keep pumping out the jab!!I noticed DLH found a home for the jab, then just stopped throwing it!!It's obvious to me,anyway, that opponents of floyd are gonna have to realize that ur not gonna look good against floyd & he's gonna make u miss, but keep pumping the jab into his shoulder & work the body & don't give up,Marquez definately has the right type of mentality to beat floyd, just think he is too small!!

This is true. But if JMM can bring his underrated handspeed and amazing precision with him, he will land cleanly on Floyd, IMO. Technically, we will have to wait and see how they look in the ring. There are questions that need to be answered, mainly "How will JMM fight in a weight class he has never fought in before?" and is Floyd rusty after being away that long?"

So far, it's evenly split between "absolutely" and "chances are remote".

The problem is that FMJ counters so well and his hands are so fast.

Guys don't just decide to stop throwing. They are discouraged by the stuff coming back. Mainly that straight right hand. And FMJ probably hits a little harder than we give him credit for.

Definately, both fighters have the ability to hurt each other. Marquez IF he lands a counter punch he can hurt floyd.

You must keep in mind that based on his last few fights, Marquez is no defensive wiz and absorbs lots of head shots.

How many more can he sustain against an elite fighter before succumbing to an accumulation of accurate and powerful blows to the head?

If he felt confident enough to call out the best fighter today, then he and Nacho must have an entirely new game plan set up along with the hopes that Floyd's skills have deteriorated due to the layoff.

That remains to be seen, and makes the match much more interesting to watch.

Yes. People are forgetting Marquez dishes punishment out. But he also takes his fair share of punishment as well.. Marquez defense is average at best. Floyd is gonna land at will with pot shots. Isnt Floyd reach advantage something absurd?

Great points, factors we won't know for sure about until the actual fight has taken course. Also how is Floyd's rib injury that he recovered from, certainly JMM will do alot of body work to test this.
