POLL: Spence has an eye "injury", same time Ugas opponent Maidana also has a similar injury. Is it just a coincidence or not?

"HINDSIGHT"
In any case, Erroll did suffer a torn retina. Three doctors have already confirmed this.
Besides, what was Spence doing visiting or scheduling appointments to see several ophthalmologists in the first place; If he wasn't suffering from some type of eye trauma that was effecting his vision?
This is prizefighting. This is not a game. Erroll wants to fight because if he didn't; Then he would haven't scheduled three different doctor appointments in order to receive clearance to fight Manny Pacquiao.

You get a second chance in life.
You thought your well..
But seems like there might be mental and physical issues left from the car crash..
I don't know if you noticed.. Spence was Slurring his words like punch drunk dude during the Fox Event when he was being interviewed. Signs of deterioration.
Now, you are in training.. You got jacked by a sparring Partner. You don't look good. You don't feel good.
Suddenly you feel you not ready for prime time.
Knowing the prize money is big..
But that lingering question.. Why am I slurring? Where did I get this torn retina? Is this from the car accident? Did my spar mate just aggravated it?
So many things creeping in your mind.. Do you continue knowing you are going to get iced by a legendary fighter and ruin your future career knowing you can't perform in the highest level because of the conditions I mentioned?
Then you realize preservation is better than risking your health over money..
thus, is Spence still the same guy? I doubt..
Fear changes a man, whether that eye is legit. The main issue here is the car accident. He's not yet well.. and he knows it..
Spence should not have signed that deal for this fight with Pacquiao.
I have a feeling deep down he was in denial at first of his health..
But when he saw he's fighting a legendary beast in the ring..
He got scared. When he should be.. Health comes first..
Peace of mind in all fighters comes first.
Afterall, They sacrifice their lives every time they enter the ring.Last edited by Spoon23; 08-12-2021, 07:59 AM.

I'd say let him rest for awhile.. (in a couple of years 2-3 years)
Then come back..
But will he still be the same fighter.. Naah I doubt it..
He'll just be a gatekeeper a stepping stone.
That car crash ruined him.
