This kid hasn’t had a decent fight in so long I was amazed at how he took good air time away from real fighters.

HBO hyped alexander so much in the beginning of his career lol, He really never panned out. I know someone will mention the maidana win but that fight was an absolute eye sore/clinch fest

I like Devon Alexander. He's a great guy and all but his career is over. Now he is just a shot fighter. He can no longer find the targets. Both his timing, speed and hand to eye coordination are gone. He should seriously ponder retirement; However, he won't do that because he is needs the money. From now on he would just be a gatekeeper status and a stepping stone for the young and up and coming fighters.

I didnt know he was still fighting. Its been 10 years since he was at the top of the division. Even in 2014 he was a shell of his prime.

With broner getting chance after chance, after tons of excuses, drunken rampages etc etc... I'll give Devin another chance. He's a decent guy, unlike broner. Whether he can get everything together is a stretch, but he does give it all in the ring, and has seemingly gotten past addiction. It may even end up he would just switch to training fighters only.

On a side note, as I watched Devon just go through motions and look like a shell of himself, it was frustrating to hear the commentary team try to tell me that Devon looked great.
Have come to understand that commentary teams are just there for the purpose of sound. I rarely watch boxing with the sounds on, unless the commentary are from RJJ or Paulie.

Devon, Collazo, Berto, Ortiz, Guerrero etc all these guys that are been called back after years off are done. They were done in their time and done even more now.

I'm with you, RJJ and Paulie were two of my favorite (to go along with Manny Steward, RIP).

I didn't think I'd like RJJ's commentary when he first started popping up on HBO broadcast but I was wrong. He could see something happening or about to happen in a fight before anyone else's eyes could see it. Funny dude too.

Paulie could break down what was happening and explain it to the viewers in a way that was detailed but easy to understand.

That’s exactly why I love hearing from RJJ, he sees things that these other idiots don’t see, before it’s about to happen or after it had happen. For example when Mayweather hit Mosley with a bodyshot in the 10th round of their fight Lampley and his idiotic crew didn’t see it or even spoke about it AFTER it had happened, Mosley was visibly winded and was looking like he would be taken out, they didn’t even know what happened and they just spoke about him getting tired etc.. And it was a beautiful bodyshot. This frustrates me as a fight fan who is into details of what am watching.

Paulie like you said also breaks down fights properly, he leaves his bias outside and does his job. I cannot stand most of the Brit commentary teams neither, Froch is too much of a hater to be unbiased, Nelson is an as*licker who tries too much to fit in, Adam Smith (Yeah whatever)…

I missed the fight, but I was shocked when I heard his name on a card. I honestly thought he retired. He hasn’t been in any news in a long time and I don’t think he’s had a decent bout since pitching that shutout against Maidana.

But I’ll always remember that uppercut he landed against Urango. That was the win that really put him on the map.
