Comments Thread For: Benavidez: Since Beating Uzcategui, Plant's Competition Hasn't Been That Good

David Benavidez does not understand why he cannot be next in line to face Caleb Plant. Benavidez, a former super middleweight titleholder, is set to headline against Venezuelan contender Jose Uzcategui in Benavidez's hometown of Phoenix, Arizona on Aug. 28 at the Phoenix Arena.

I hope David implodes on PBC. Then we’ll see the Haymonites turn against him.

He's right, Plant has not been a strong champion at all but I still remember when Benavidez had a belt and did the exact same thing. Never forget he wouldn't fight Callum Smith so is playing the same risk/reward game as the guy he's criticising. Neither of these guys on Canelo's level, just waiting on their payday

Bro how TF is Anthony Dirrell getting shot after shot after shot? This sport really is a farce. Showtime have they’re set of losers and they literally recycle them. Top rank does the same and so does matchroom. That’s why we constantly get the fights nobody wants. People like Dirrell need to retire. Total joke. Always backed plant especially with his story but he’s quickly becoming a pathetic champion.

all these sad acts just sitting on they’re hands hoping Canelo calls em. This sport is one sinking vessel

Might really happen too. Haymon has a history of putting Hispanic fighters in less than favorable positions.

It's getting pretty old seeing most of these PBC fighters just talk, talk, and talk some more, and never step up to the plate and avoid Big challenges. That goes for both Benavides and Plant, amongst others.

Really feels like boxing is on its last legs. Imagine if Canelo was fighting only once a year like the other champions. Then we'd never have anything to talk about.
