Read properly. I can give you many an example right now if fighters saying they could either beat Canelo or calling other huge names out and 9/10 it DOESNT make it onto here. But once an MMA fighter does it, in an ERA were MMA/YOUTUBERS wanna be boxers and Boxingscene are all over it.

Usman can’t beat Canelo and he probably knows it in the back of his mind. Or maybe he really believes he can beat him, which is nothing wrong with that.

But, he is a great striker as well. He has one hell of a chin, something you need vs Canelo for starters. So he at least has that going for him. I was amazed at the shots he was taking from Covington. And Covington could not take Usman’s for long as he got his jaw broken. As far as his punching ability goes, he actually looks very good from what I saw. Very good stance, straight punches, nothing wild or crazy swinging. Tucks his chin, shoulders up, hands up in front of his face. Leg positioning looks good. First time I saw him “boxing” in the Octagon, I figured he primarily trains as a boxer and uses it in MMA. When I found out his strength is actually wrestling, I was a bit surprised. It is no wonder he is so successful in UFC. The guy can do both above average, wrestle and striking.

Now of course, his boxing is no where near as good as Canelo’s. Especially the amount of power you need to put behind those 10oz gloves. It would be a tough transition to go from 4oz to 10oz.

I'm remembering McGregor coming to boxing and thinking his arm punches were going to have to same effect in 8oz gloves. I notice a lot of the MMA guys lack proper punch technique. Maybe it's because they have to worry about so many other things that they can't really sit on their shots. Might need to avoid a kick to the head, leg, or body and have to be light on your feet?

Well I work in corrections as a sheriff’s deputy in county jail. And have worked in State prison as a correctional officer. I literally deal with murderers, terrible people. I’ve dealt with a riot last year during the pandemic. I worked segregation in State prison, “the hole”. I have dealt with level 5 offenders threatening me in person, not some internet threats. Been told i’m going to get killed. For years, it’s normal. Forget about a right hook to the nose, you ever seen a shank in person? I’ve caught many inmates with those. The other day one inmate threw boiling water and oil at another inmate’s face. Melted his skin right off. You ever seen another’s mans eye dangling from his eye socket over a fight for the microwave? Ever had to respond to someone OD’ing on something laced with fentanyl? You ever had to restrain/fight someone who’s high off meth, k-2? You ever seen someone hanging, their skin turned purple? Do you know what a lock in a sock is? Would you have the balls to approach someone who you know has a shank on him while all you have is OC spray? And you have to restrain that person and confiscate the shank before someone gets hurt? Ever seen someone’s skull cracked open due to throwing themselves head first into a toilet trying to end their life?

So imagine what some random dude on the internet popping off about punching me looks like to me? Just think about it. Let that sink in your brain for a moment. Seriously guy. If you are not a killer, go sit down some where. That is what I deal with. So if you are not that, go pop off to someone else about all that. I took a quick look and see boxingscene reporting Nick Diaz calling out Roy Jones back in the 2000s “before May/Pac” (this is a really random stipulation but we have to move the goal post).
