Two things. First, a comparison of polio as a killer vs covid as a killer. Polio is a low mortality disease. An epidemic in 1916 terrified the US by killing 6000 people. That's 6000 in one year. Compared to January of this year when over 4000 people were dying per day in the US from Covid.
Second, a comparison of the adminstering of the polio vaccine vs the covid vaccine. Jonas Salk devloped his polio vaccine in 1952 and tested it on a small group of people in 1953. By 1954 they were giving it to millions of school children. The covid vaccine isn't being given to any children under 12 right now. To me, this comparison does not show that the covid vaccine is being dished out in an irresponsibly rash manner when put alongside the history of the polio vaccine.
It is absolutely true that no one knows for sure the long-term effects of the covid vaccine. We do know for sure, there are no side effects after 12 months (I'm editing this to add: for the vast majority of people). I would say we have no cause to reasonably expect side effects, given the science involved and the long history of vaccinology in general. Which is to say, the vaccine follows a well understood basic principle -- it introduces an inert version of the virus (in the case of the viral vector vaccines) to your body (or shortcuts this with messenger RNA in the case of Pfizer/Moderna vaccines) which stimulates your own natural immune system to protect against the live virus. That's it.
In terms of long-term risks, it is down to the individual to make their own informed risk assessment. Personally, I think it is a more cavalier risk to take being unvaccinated.Monty Fisto likes this.

Because taking vaccine means increasing significantly my chances of not being devastatingly affected by covid and reducing the chances of transmitting it to someone who might die because of it. The long-term effects of covid are well-documented and you are running a high risk of severely damaging your mental and physical health even if you don't die from it. Why wouldn't that be a compelling argument to you? Why wouldn't 600k of dead people in the USA be a compelling argument? On what factual basis are you basing your fear of this vaccine? Just because you don't know long-term side effects? Does it mean that you don't fly a new model of a plane that has just entered service? Or you wouldn't drive an electric car? I guess you haven't used a mobile phone for the first few years after they've become widely affordable either, huh? Tell me in what other areas you are such a sceptic and seeker of 100% verified and guaranteed science (if there is such thing). Sure, you can't be religious, right?
Why am I arguing with a flat earther?..
For me personally this has absolutely positively nothing whatsoever to do with a belief, a political belief majority input. It has to do with what I personally put into my body and my body to fight illness and develop its own immunity. I have taken all proven vaccines throughout my life. You stated that, “The long-term effects of covid are well-documented and you are running a high risk of severely damaging your mental and physical health even if you don't die from it.” The vaccine you believe in (which is fine because it is your choice) doesn’t prevent anything you just mentioned. It doesn’t prevent getting the virus just its symptoms. It’s thus far proven to be akin to Tamiflu. It doesn’t prevent anything it only decreases the amount of time and severity of the flu.
On what factual basis? That a public going into hysteria over a “pandemic” that has a 99% survivability rate? I’d even say it’s much higher than 99% given state health official publicly stated before cameras ANY DEATH where a person was Covid positive is counted as a Covid death. When questioned further that included car accident, violence, etc. I watched this with my own eyes. A “delta variant” that thus far has a much lower death rate. Notice how the measure now it is no longer death death death death and is now positive positive positive.
im calm while those around me are scrambling in fear and will believe anything fed to them.Last edited by Boxingfanatic75; 08-03-2021, 05:28 PM.Boxing-1013 likes this.

I'll grant you RNA in terms of the mRNA vaccines -- by definition it's there -- though I'm not sure what you mean by 'foreign' RNA? Does it come from 'over there'?Last edited by Monty Fisto; 08-03-2021, 05:35 PM.

The knowledge about health is seriously lacking in some on this thread.
Ultimately your health is decided upon by your spiritual, physiological and emotional balance. The understanding of this statement flies through the legs of some commentators here and wouldn’t even make them flinch if it hit them directly in the nuts.
I therefore rest my case.

you complained nonstop about masks, shutdowns, lockdowns, then when presented with a very simple and safe solution to end all these things...you tripped over and fell on your face NO I WONT TAKE IT! WHAT ABOUT THE FANTASY SIDE EFFECTS THAT COULD HAPPEN! there are only 2 choices here, a world with covid where you have no protection from covid or a world with covid where you have protection from covid. why wouldnt you take that second option? oh something bad could happen in the future...something bad is happening now though. also whats your third option here? dont take the vaccine, take the vaccine, and....what? wait for more info! while 600k die. ok stand back and stand by!
