I hope I don't have to see much more of either Mielnicki or Nikita Abibiy taking up air time for more deserving fighters that I'd rather watch.
Forgot all about abibiy. There’s a name i hadn’t heard in a minute. Will have to read up on him and see what his career looks like these days

Hahaha classic lol. It’s the definition of a “domestic” card in the American sense

They’re usually around the same level. Warren is a good matchmaker when matching guys domestically but far too many of his fighters get sent down the WBO route fighting nobodies for WBO European or Intercontinental titles. Anthony Yarde is a prime example in recent years.

One thing I will give Warren though is he doesn’t have the biggest of budgets. My biggest issue with Matchroom is I feel they could invest a hell of a lot more into the product. They make us pay for sh*** like Whyte and Chisora headlining PPV’s yet never give the fans anything back in return. They just keep taking from the fanbase, bleeding it dry. At least Warren occasionally gives us fights Joyce-Dubois as at no extra cost as a non-PPV show.

Matchrooms cards can be bad... Warrens Queenberry cards are ALL atrociously bad.

Looks like PBC rigged the scales so Vito wouldnt get schooled again.

Andre Dirrell hell who he blow to get this opportunity? This kid been done since faking against Arthur Abraham back in the day, he and his brother finished but both had good amateur pedigree, and Anthony became champion twice against non descript opponents.

I appreciate the breakdown. Sometimes I think our perceptions can be different because how we access the cards are different. All of the Matchroom and GBP cards are accessible via DAZN for me, PBC are Showtime, FOX, FS1 or PPV. Top Rank is ESPN/ESPN+ (or the occasional PPV), Queensbury cards are occasionally on the ESPN+ ******ing app.

If I had to pay $20-30 for Whyte/Chisora (both of which were entertaining) type cards I don't think my viewpoint would be quite the same. I'm not a fan of the PPV, but I get that sometimes it's needed to make certain fights happen...it shouldn't be used to gouge the fans for an extra dollar (or pound).

Martin's an idiot. He had an opponent he'd already beaten with the chance to do it again on a bigger stage.

I've seen them showcased against no-hopers and I've seen them have issues against guys a notch above that. They are early in their careers and I get that a certain level of competition is to be expected but I'd rather them buried deep down on the non-televised portion of the card rather than as a co-feature.
exactly Martin beat him up badly enough that they had to give a no-name B side the decision.

Martin knew the contracted weight so he shouldn't get a pass for missing it but if Vito really thought it was the weight that made him have an off night he would have agreed to fighting Martin at a few pounds over 147. I don't know if there was no purse deduction option if you miss weight by that amount with the commission or who made the decision but I don't see what Melnicki is going to gain from fighting the replacement. It shows a lack of confidence if he rejected the fight with a possible purse cut for Martin.
